Overview
Experience Llyn Padarn from a completely different perspective on this guided SUP adventure beneath the spectacular mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia). Llyn Padarn is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales and is an incredible place to explore by paddleboard. Surrounded by mountains, ancient woodland and the dramatic remains of the Dinorwig slate quarry, there’s plenty to discover both on and off the water.
The area forms part of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021 for its remarkable industrial and cultural heritage.
As we journey across the lake, we'll share some of the stories and history that shaped this unique landscape while helping you develop your paddling skills along the way. You'll also pick up useful SUP skills tips including journey planning, weather awareness and staying safe on the water – ideal for building your confidence to plan your own SUP adventures.
Our trip would not be complete without a little Welsh treat! We'll stop along the shores of the lake for a hot drink and our favourite Welsh cakes, giving you time to relax and take in the spectacular views of this little corner of Eryri.
