In the Ancient Near East, mountains were considered sacred space, divine abodes, temples of the gods, bridging the seen and unseen realms. Likewise Eden was no mere garden—it was the original sacred mountain, God’s primeval sanctuary where heaven kissed earth, and humanity walked in perfect unity with the Divine. This was the model cosmic temple, a marriage of the natural and supernatural worlds.  When Adam and Eve’s rebellion torched this sacred space, God’s redemptive plan was already in place. His plan? To preserve and propagate His original Edenic idea and purpose. He then carried this plan forward through a series of glorious burning holy mountains, daisy chained together into one giant story arc that spans the Old and New Testaments; the pinnacle of this mountain story—Jesus himself.  Spend a day with us as we explore the cosmic significance of the original sacred mountain and our critical place in fulfilling its story arc... redeemed humanity-the new sacred space. Reading the Bible in isolation can lead us to forget that it is a historical record rooted in a time, place and culture far removed from our own. In many places along scripture’s timeline its fingerprints touch the surrounding nations & cultures and vice versa. Our British Museum Bible Tour is a great opportunity to examine these touch points with the aim of bringing into sharp focus the world of the Bible.  Our Tour Goals:  Planting the feet of each tour-ist firmly in the world of the Ancient Near East.  Casting light on the cultural and historical backdrop to both the big and little stories of Scripture.  Re-examining familiar Bible accounts in the light of extra-biblical evidence.  Clearly presenting the framework and timeline of the Bible’s BIG story.  Providing high quality corroborative evidence for many of the characters, places and accounts of the Bible.  Challenging longstanding arguments against the accuracy of the Bible.  Presenting each tour-ist with artefacts that truly have the ‘Wow!’ factor. Please Note Before Booking:  This is a full day tour and although we don't walk far, apart from lunch, we are on our feet all day so comfy footwear is advised. The day is rich in content so we have produced a YouTube briefing which we strongly advise watching before you come to help you get the most out of the tour. What you'll need 🍴 Food - : You can expect to pay in the region of £12 for a sandwich, crisps and drink in the museum. However, the Museum usually turns a blind eye to packed lunches being eaten on the premises if you buy a cuppa. 🥤 Drink - : Only water is allowed to be consumed in the galleries. 📋 Other - : Camera/Smartphone as there are many amazing artefacts you might want to photograph (No flash photography allowed).
