Pet Lamb Feeding Policy & Terms and Conditions

Purpose:

To ensure the health and safety of all visitors to the pet lamb feeding event at Berry Hill Farm. While providing an educational and enjoyable experience

  1. General Feeding Guidelines:


  • Approved Feeding Times: Visitors may feed the pet lambs only during designated feeding times as posted around the farm or communicated by staff. These times are established to respect the lambs' natural feeding schedules and maintain their health. 
  • Approved Feed Items: Only the feed items provided or approved by farm staff are permissible. These items typically include specially formulated lamb milk replacer, high-quality hay, or designated treats. Other food items are not permitted. 
  • Feeding Restrictions: Visitors must not offer any human food, including bread, chips, fruit, or vegetables, as these can disrupt the lambs' digestive systems and harm their health.



2\\. Safety Guidelines for Visitors:
  • Individuals with weakened immune systems or significant health concerns are advised to refrain from visiting the farm.
  • Pregnant individuals or those who suspect they may be pregnant should NOT visit the farm.
  • We recommend changing and washing your clothing upon returning home, with particular attention to minimizing contact with pregnant women.
  • Avoid contact : Please refrain from direct contact with pregnant women or those who may be pregnant until you have thoroughly washed your hands and changed into clean clothing.
  • Supervision: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, while feeding the lambs.
  • Gentle Handling: Visitors should approach the lambs calmly and gently. Sudden movements, loud noises, or rough handling of the animals are prohibited.
  • Feeding Instructions: Only use the designated feeding bottles, cups, or containers provided by staff. Do not attempt to feed lambs using other objects.
  • Hygiene: Direct face-to-face contact with the lambs is not allowed.
  • Hygiene: Avoid contact with rear ends of lambs and faecal material as much as possible
  • Hygiene: After feeding the lambs, visitors should thoroughly wash their hands with soap and water provided at the handwashing station.
  • Avoid Direct Contact with Other Farm Animals: Visitors should not feed or interact with animals not designated for feeding at that time.


3\\. Animal Welfare:
  • Health Monitoring: Farm staff and veterinarians regularly monitor all lambs for health and well-being. If a lamb shows signs of illness or distress, it will be excluded from feeding activities until cleared by medical staff.
  • Feeding Restrictions for Specific Lambs: Some lambs may require special care due to medical conditions or age and may not be available for feeding. Farm staff will communicate transparently regarding any lambs unavailable for feeding.
  • Emergency Care: In the event of injury or illness related to feeding activities, immediate assistance from farm staff is required. Any incidents should be reported promptly to the nearest staff member.


4\\. Visitor Responsibilities:
  • Adherence to Rules: All visitors are expected to follow the rules outlined in this policy and adhere to instructions from farm staff at all times.
  • Damage or Loss: Visitors are responsible for any damage caused to property or any losses incurred while on the farm. This includes any damage to feeding equipment or harm to the animals resulting from improper feeding behaviour.
  • Liability Waiver: By participating in lamb feeding activities, visitors assume all risks associated with interacting with the animals, including potential injury or infection. Berry Hill Farm is not liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the feeding activities.


5\\. Terms & Conditions for Feeding Activities:
  • Availability: Lamb feeding activities are available on a first-come, first-served basis during designated hours and may be subject to cancellation or modification due to weather conditions, animal health, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Booking & Payment: Visitors wishing to participate in lamb feeding will need to book in advance and pay the necessary fee. Lamb feeding fees are non-refundable unless the farm cancels the activity.
  • Photo and Video Policy: Visitors may take photos or videos while feeding the lambs, but flash photography or actions that disturb the animals are prohibited. All photos taken on the farm may be used in promotional materials unless the visitor explicitly opts out.
  • Cancellations: If you need to cancel or reschedule your lamb feeding booking, please use the manage my booking link within your confirmation email. If there are no available slots when trying to amend your booking to a different date, you will not receive a refund. You can reschedule your booking 5 days before the experience starts and there will be no refunds for cancellations. 


6\. Consent and Acknowledgement:
  • By participating in the lamb feeding activity, visitors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to adhere to the policies and Terms & Conditions set forth by Berry Hill Farm. Visitors agree to indemnify Berry Hill Farm and its staff from any liability related to feeding activities or interaction with the lambs.

If there are no available slots when trying to amend your booking to a different date, you will not receive a refund. You can reschedule your booking 5 days before the experience starts and there will be no refunds for cancellations.
