Highlights

Join me in my kitchen on the shores of Strangford Lough in County Down, just 30 minutes from Belfast. A warm welcome awaits you with some homemade buttermilk soda bannock fresh from the oven and a cuppa. Then we get the aprons on…

You’ll be learning how to make a variety of traditional griddle breads. As our soda breads, wheaten and potato breads are made on the griddle, they are all ready to eat within 15 minutes of making them. There is no need to weigh or measure anything – we make bread in the traditional way.

You’ll have worked up an appetite! You’ll enjoy delicious homemade breads including soda focaccia bread, and other sweet treats. Everything on the table must be eaten!! Bring an appetite! Don’t worry, what you don’t eat, you can take home with you. You’ll take home a big bag full of homemade breads - soda, wheaten, potato and a copy of my family recipes.

Includes
  • On arrival homemade Fruit Soda Bannock as it comes out of the oven served with Tea / Coffee
  • Learn to make three traditional Irish breads on the griddle
  • After breadmaking is complete, relax in our cosy thatched cottage or al fresco in the gardens.
