Maidstone Museum | Stich a Story - Bookmark Workshop | 24th Oct 2026

Overview

Mark your place with a little handmade magic
Slow down, get creative and celebrate the joy of books at this relaxed hand‑stitching session as part of Maidstone Lit Fest. Inspired by bookshelves and well‑loved stories, you’ll create your own stitched textile bookmark, perfect for marking the pages of your favourite read.
Kent‑based textile artist Anne Kelly (Anne Kelly Textiles) will guide you through the process, using felt, fabric strips and simple embroidery techniques to build up colourful, book‑inspired designs. No previous stitching experience is needed – just bring your enthusiasm for making and a love of books.
