About Lordington Lavender

Lordington Lavender is a family-run lavender farm and visitor destination in the South Downs near Chichester, England. Founded in 2002 by farmer Andrew Elms after diversifying from dairy farming, the farm cultivates approx. 10 acres of Mailette lavender, a French Provencal variety known for its high-quality essential oil. Our fields flourish through a deep respect for nature and a commitment to sustainable farming, with all our plants weeded by hand and no pesticides or fertilisers used. The land supports a rich wildlife habitat, including thousands of bees, diverse butterfly varieties and 12 red-listed bird species. Every summer, our lavender fields burst into bloom, creating a sea of colour and calm that draws visitors from near and far. The perfect family day out, our open days provide photo opportunities, lavender talks, delicious refreshments and child-friendly activities, with tractor rides, hay play and more. Beyond their beauty, our fields offer a space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with nature. Lavender is celebrated for its soothing and restorative properties, and our events — from peaceful open days to atmospheric evening gatherings — are designed to capture that sense of wellbeing and tranquillity, as well as providing the perfect backdrop for those stunning golden hour photos, fun family outings or blissful yoga sessions. Set in the heart of the South Downs, Lordington Lavender provides a truly unique setting where people can unwind, explore, and experience the natural magic of lavender at its most vibrant. At the end of each season, our fragrant fields are harvested to distil our prized essential oil - pure, premium and at the heart of every product we create. From sumptuous bath oils to calming pillow sprays, our range offers the restorative and soothing benefits of lavender, crafted to elevate everyday moments into indulgent experiences.
