Pottery Wheel Experiences

Pottery Wheel Experience A 'taster' throwing experience at Poppins Pottery. Upon arrival we’ll run through the basics before demonstrating pottery throwing on the wheel to make a small Pot. You’ll then have time on the wheel to make your own small pot (or two).  Choose your favourite and leave with us to kiln fire and we'll contact you when ready to collect. A small cost for posting applies.   Allow up to 1.5 hours in total for this experience. (Suitable for up to 4 people) suited for those who have never tried a potters wheel and always fancied ‘having a go’. We’re on hand to offer as much or as little assistance required. Aprons are provided but we recommend wearing clothes you won’t mind getting a little messy. Optional extras  -- Available to choose/purchase on the day. Kids Pottery Wheel Experience A fun clay throwing experience at Poppins Pottery for children only Children will be shown how to make a pot on the electric pottery wheels and use the clay cutters to add a few sprigs to their new creation before leaving with us to dry and kiln fire to bisque (can be decorated at home with your own paints or the option to purchase a ;return to glaze ticket' is available. We'll contact you when ready to collect. Allow up to 1.5 hours in total for this experience.  Please note that we do need a sufficient number of participants to run this session and in instances where that has not been met, we have the right to cancel/re-book to another day.   Aprons are provided, but we recommend wearing clothes you won’t mind getting a little messy. Children under 8yrs must have an adult stay in the studio for the duration of the session. Max 1 ADULT. Enjoy a whole day getting creative with clay.  Learn the basics of hand building to create your own project . Have fun throwing pots on the electric pottery wheel with the same structure as our Pottery Wheel Taster sessions then enjoy throwing some more,!.  Leave your favourite 3 makes with us to kiln fire and we'll have them ready for collection (or delivery for an additional cost) approx 6-8 weeks later.   Materials, use of equipment and aprons provided  but please wear clothes you won't mind getting a little messy! Sessions run 10.30am-4.00pm with  1hr min lunch break (bring a packed lunch or pop into one of our local cafes)
