Our Up Close Experience offers a rare opportunity to step behind the scenes and meet some of Camperdown’s most popular animals face to face.
Spend around 50 minutes with our expert keepers as you explore an animal enclosure, learn about the animals care and enjoy a hands-on experience with species such as European Brown Bears (seasonal, April - October) or Primates like Gibbons and Lemurs. You’ll also enjoy a complimentary drink and cake in our café and have the chance to ask our keepers all your burning questions.

"I was fortunate enough to enjoy an experience with the bears and thoroughly enjoyed every second of my time there. The staff are wonderful, very knowledgeable and friendly. The bears, well what can I say, they are magnificent. So well mannered and delightful to be with. Love watching them wrestle and play with each other in their huge enclosure. I wonder what the people who built the massive walled garden would think if they knew it was home to bears and gibbons. ☺️"
