March 2, 2025 Doors open at 12 p.m. to view a pop up exhibit of rarely seen quilts and pin cushion's from Locust Grove's collections followed by Quilts, Community & Commemoration at 1 p.m. presented by Laura Chenven and Anita Jones of the Oh Freedom Quilt Project of the Mid-Hudson Anti Slavery History Project attendees will have the opportunity to construct their own quilt square following the presentation

Morse Code and Telegraphy in the Military Come celebrate “National Write Your Name in Morse Code Day” with a presentation by West Point’s Captain Travis Salley, M.Mus., M.A. Instructor of Military History United States Military Academy   Saturday, January 11th, 1:00 PM at Locust Grove  This event is free and recommended for ages 12 and up. Donations to Locust Grove are greatly appreciated.  After Captain Salley’s presentation, enjoy a tour of the permanent exhibit in the Morse Gallery, and a pop-up exhibit of rarely seen Samuel Morse memorabilia.

Join us for an evening of spooky fun! Start the evening in our West Gallery with delicious food and signature cocktails from Sugar & Spice Catering. Then follow the trail of pumpkins to our historic mansion for a candlelight tour at twilight. Finish the evening by listening to a classic retelling of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow performed by the incredible Jonathan Kruk in our pet cemetery.  This event is appropriate for ages 16 and up. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  This event is a fundraiser for Locust Grove. Join us for a special scavenger hunt for over 20 whimsical Fairy Houses and Gnome Homes and more, hidden among the blooming flowers and trees in Locust Grove's historic gardens!  You'll find some old favorites and some fabulous new ones...Fairy Tales, anyone?  Wear your own set of wings or gnome hat, or purchase one in our shop!  Can't wait to see you in the gardens!    $12/Person when purchased online for adults and children 4 and over  ($15/Person at the door) Kids under 4 are FREE! A Scavenger Hunt for Decorated Pumpkins!   SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS SEPTEMBER 7 - OCTOBER 20 (And Monday, October 14th) 10 AM - 3 PM (Event closes at 4 PM)  Come find more than 40 decorated pumpkins and whimsical photo ops hidden among the flowers and trees on a Locust Grove scavenger hunt/story walk on the grounds and in the gardens of our historic Mansion! Tour at your own pace, stay all day or just as long as you’d like! Costumes encouraged, many photo ops, bring a picnic, and enjoy under the trees! This entertaining family program features decorated pumpkins telling the story of Locust Grove; the people and animals who lived and worked at the historic estate since its first famous occupant lived here, Samuel A. Morse the inventor of the telegraph! “Drive” a 1913 “Cadillac,” ring the bell on a historic “train,” sit on “Doodles” the sawhorse pony, and more. This is a rain-or-shine activity. $10/Person when purchased online for adults and children 4 and over ($15/Person at the door) Kids under 4 are FREE! And yes, adults need to purchase tickets, as well, as this is a fabulous fundraiser for Locust Grove!  There are no ticket refunds, but you may change the date you wish to come by logging back in to your order.
