NEW TO WILD: Relaxed Sessions

Overview

Accessibility & Inclusivity – SEN & Autism-Friendly Relaxed Session

Join us for a relaxed afternoon of wild adventures, specially designed for explorers with SEN, autism and additional sensory or accessibility needs, along with their families and carers.

For this special session, the park will be closed to the general public, with admission limited to guests attending our SEN & Autism-Friendly session. We will also reduce the number of visitors in the park, helping to create a calmer, less crowded environment with more space to explore at your own pace.

Relaxed Shows & Entertainment

Our shows will be adapted especially for the session:

* Low-volume dinosaur show, with reduced sudden or loud sound effects
* Quiet bird show with no microphone or amplified music
* Please remember that our parrots are naturally very vocal and may still be loud!
* Reduced or softened lighting effects where possible
* dinosaur show will still include theatrical lighting and large dinosaur puppets/animatronics but the show will be quieter
* Clear warnings before any unavoidable loud noises or surprising moments
* Guests are completely welcome to come and go from shows at any time – no explanations needed

A Calmer Park Experience

Throughout the afternoon, we’ll make adjustments to help reduce sensory overload and make visiting the park as comfortable as possible:

* Lower visitor numbers and reduced queuing
* Music and background noise reduced or switched off in appropriate areas
* Quiet and sensory break-out areas available whenever you need some time away from the excitement
* Ear defenders available to borrow
* Additional seating and rest areas
* Freedom to move around, take breaks and enjoy the park at your own pace
* Multiple entrance and exit routes, including options that avoid the gift shop and other potentially overstimulating areas
* Clear signage to quieter areas, toilets and exits
* Additional team members around the park who understand that some guests may communicate, behave or experience the environment differently

Know Before You Go

We know that knowing what to expect can make a huge difference. Before your visit, we will provide information to help you prepare, including details about:

* What you’ll see and experience during your visit
* Which areas may be noisy, busy, bright or have strong smells
* Where our quiet spaces and toilets are located
* What happens during each show and approximately how long it lasts
* Where unexpected or naturally loud noises may occur
* Alternative routes around potentially overwhelming areas

Everyone Is Welcome

There is no expectation to sit still or stay quiet during our relaxed session. Stimming, movement, vocalising, using communication devices, wearing ear defenders and taking breaks are all welcome.

Carers and accompanying family members are welcome to enjoy the experience alongside you, and our team will be on hand throughout the afternoon if you need help.

Our aim is: less pressure, fewer surprises and more freedom to enjoy the adventure in the way that works for you.
