We are extremely lucky to live within a landscape that has meant the remains of many periods of time are reflected all around us. Once you know what you are looking for, you will never look at the landscape in the same way again! Choose from our general Archaeology in the Peaks tour, Prehistory in the Peak, or 10,000 Year in a Day. All our tours start and finish in Buxton Maximum of 7 people  We travel in comfort in our Mercedes Viano ​and we visit some of the most iconic as well as lesser known archaeological sites of the Peak District. Depending on the tour you choose, we explore the history and cultural heritage of the area taking in prehistoric sites such as henges and stone circles, medieval crosses and more. You'll learn to see the past in the landscape at every turn! There is some walking to do, so wear stout shoes or boots We'll provide refreshments - a selection of teas, coffee, water and snacks. This tour which we have developed to give you a fresh look at an old landscape. The day brings the past alive using the landscape of the National Park visiting sites that date from the end of the last Ice Age to WWII.  You will be picked up from a central location in Buxton and spend the day travelling through a landscape that has evidence of human activity over thousands of years and stopping at a number of points en route. ​  The tour will have a maximum of 7 participants. It will give you the chance to look in depth at what seems to be a familiar landscape. Most of the walking involved involves trackways and farm tracks, and a single short but strenuous climb.
