A fantastic Kayak hire trip for those to experience the tranquil calm waters of the historic SSSI Cromford Canal at a slow steady pace.    Instruction may be given at the start to give you paddle handling technique to help you get control of your tandem kayak along with a safety briefing, help given to get into and out of the kayaks.  An instructor at certain times may be on the water to enable safe passage around the canal boat before you are released to journey unaided for a calm, nice and relaxed slow kayak paddle down the canal to High Peak Junction and return, whilst enjoying the abundant wildlife along the way. (Approx 1hr on the water)  Due to various restrictions in place on the canal as its a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). We ask for everyone's co-operation in abiding by certain rules when booking in order for this activity to continue in the future. ​Respecting other users/ wildlife / canal boat / staying onboard the kayak all times. Suitable for family and friends 5yrs - Adults.  New light weight paddles for young children to use or can enjoy the ride whilst paddled by the adult at the back.  kayaks can be paddled solo from the rear seat.  2 Teenagers may be in control of their own craft provided a parent is either on the water too or actively walking along side supervising.  Max group size 14 people. ​All under 18s with a parent. ​ Sorry - no dogs on this activity. Join us for this leisurely canoe trip along the Cromford canal to High Peak Junction and return. Ideal for those who have some prior experience but not essential. Joining others to paddle, explore and unwind in the lovely surroundings of Cromford Canal based in the Derbyshire Peak District. Staying as a group your instructor will give you some basic canoe handling skills if needed, before heading off down the canal together. No Games, its just a paddle and we can give you a few pointers along the way to keep in control too. For those struggling with a traditional canoe paddle - we will have a few kayak paddles available to make things easier. 1hr 30mins is plenty of time, exact finishing time will depend on the speed of the group. ​Allow 1hr 30mins Approx. A fantastic 1hr 45min -2hr introduction to canoeing for those who have never been in a canoe before along the Cromford Canal nr Matlock Bath. Suitable for family, friends or Hen Party - its just your group plus the instructor. All under 18s need to be with a parent -lower age limit 5yrs. Its the ideal way to start. A short journey on a calm canal to gain confidence with a few skills taught to keep you straight and in control with your partner. Challenges and games can be set for those that require further challenge along the way.  Normally lots of wildlife to spot along the way. A third seat in the canoe is suitable for children 10yr old and below.  Dogs under control welcome at your own risk - (not disturbing the wildlife or swimming) Aimed as being a dry session apart from splashing or rain.  Meet and greet followed by kitting up with buoyancy aids.  A full briefing on land of how to get control of the canoe followed by a short practice on the water. River Derwent Canoe Trip - Peak District

An awesome 4 mile canoe trip experience down the lovely River Derwent from Darley Bridge to Matlock Bath in the Peak District. Suitable for teenagers to adults with good co-ordination required to get control of the canoes quickly on moving water. After a thorough safety briefing we begin our descent of the river, practising some canoe skills at the start in order to negotiate moving water, rapids, under bridges and avoid those rocks!! ​ Its 2 people per canoe - max group size 5 people. If an odd numbered group then one person will be in front of the instructors canoe. Minimum age 13 with parent. Hopefully a relatively dry trip, but capsizes do happen!! Do arrive early for the afternoon session as parking at weekends school holidays gets very busy!! This activity experience is subject to appropriate water levels being available. A fantastic abseiling experience for the whole stag or hen party to enjoy in the Peak District.  A stunning location just a short walk from the car park is the 90ft descent off Millers Dale Bridge overlooking the River Wye. Adrenalin guaranteed!  A minimum of 4 goes each - more if time allows! Alternative dates available for groups of 5+  Having met - we kit up, take a short level walk along the Monsal Trail to the Millers Dale Bridge.  A full safety briefing before one person at a time climbs through the bridge railings to start their descent - your in charge! A safety rope attached at all times.  Return back to the top via steps for more goes. Smiles guaranteed !! Abseiling Experience - Black Rocks

This is an amazing abseil experience for pushing your boundaries and conquering fears!!  Abseiling at Black Rocks involves lowering yourself backwards down a rock face, with stunning views over the Derbyshire Peak District.  Your in charge of your own descent!  We will start gently on small sloping abseils and build up to more vertical larger abseils as required. ​ This is aimed at very confident children or adults - feeling less confident?? then try our Millers Dale Bridge Abseil . Family Exploring Devonshire Cave

Booking is exclusively for your group! Take your show cave experience to the next level by exploring an old lead mine - Devonshire Mine in Matlock Bath. Explore standing, crawling, squeezing, Scrambling through a rabbit warren of underground passages left by lead miners providing a good level of challenge for the whole family ages 5yrs upwards to enjoy. See baby cave formations and here and see some of the lead mining history. Experience total darkness as we turn the lights out. Climb through the vertical letter box amongst other challenges. Don't Forget to remember the way out!! An amazing adventure!! All under 18s must be with a parent.  Alternative dates available for groups of 4+  Itinerary We kit you up in over suits, helmets with lights and wellys. A 10 - 15min walk up a steep hill to find the Devonshire Mine entrance. A full safety briefing before entering the mine. Starting gently as we get used to the environment we begin to explore the many tunnels that gradually squeeze you and provide a good challenge to get through. Some tighter sections are optional. We provide information about the lead miners and cave formations as we go. Once out of the mine its down hill back to the car park to de-kit. Booking is exclusively for your group!  A fantastic cave for the more adventurous family or friends that wish to crawl around getting muddy and wet !! Minimum age 10yrs old. The entrance for some is a challenge in itself as you lower yourself down past tree roots, before following a shoulder width passage into the main cave where it widens up. This cave is more physically demanding as you stoop through water up to the knees and mud!!  Generally exploring one passageway in and back out, its small formations, but with a couple of tighter crawls for those who want further challenge - may get slightly wetter as a result!! We may explore other cave tunnels at the start of the session along the hillside - a head for heights required!
