What to Expect Our Intermediate Caving Course in the Peak District offers a thrilling full-day experience exploring longer, more technical caves. You’ll be guided by fully qualified, local cave instructors who know the Peak District cave systems intimately. They will ensure your safety and support your learning throughout the day, giving you plenty of hands-on experience and expert advice. This course is ideal for those who have tried caving before and want to push themselves further. You’ll encounter varied underground challenges such as climbing natural rock features, negotiating narrow squeezes, and navigating sections that may involve crawling or wading through water. The course also includes vertical elements where you’ll learn how to tackle climbs and abseils safely under supervision — perfect for developing your confidence with more physically demanding caving. Alongside practical movement skills, you’ll build your understanding of cave environments, route finding, and how to manage underground hazards as part of a team. Your instructors will tailor the day to suit your group’s needs and weather conditions, choosing from limestone-rich caves around Castleton, the Hope Valley and wider Peak District - areas steeped in natural beauty, fascinating geology, and a rich mining heritage. This course requires a reasonable level of fitness due to the physical nature of climbing, abseiling and crawling. Half Day Horizontal Caving Experience

What to Expect Led by experienced instructors, we’ll guide you through a series of underground passages, chambers, and features that showcase the geology and history of the Peak District. This is a non-technical caving trip, suitable for complete beginners. Expect plenty of crawling, squeezing and scrambling – all optional and with the flexibility to suit your confidence and comfort levels. Want to try abseiling underground too? Cave SRT Course
Our Cave SRT course is aimed at people who have caved before but would like to do more vertical caving using Single Rope Techniques (SRT). This 2 day course will teach you all aspects of SRT allowing you to move safely and efficiently through vertical cave systems. We tend to run these courses from a Yorkshire base, primarily because we have more wet weather options up there and also access to an indoor purpose built SRT facility. The course will run initially using the indoor facility, then we will use a variety of different caves to help build and develop your skills. Please contact us if you require this course to be ran in the Peak District. Our CIC qualified instructors will take you through this process in a safe and controlled manner with us looking after you throughout. This course will cover all aspects of SRT equipment and how to look after it and check that its fit for purpose. It covers a thorough introduction to the skills you will need including some self rescue options (which we consider essential). You will learn how to keep yourself safe at all times in an underground environment. This is a great skills based course delivered by staff with the highest caving qualifications. This is an opportunity to try this in the safest way possible by using a well established company that has been operating for 15 years. Whether you're new to Single Rope Technique (SRT) or looking to refine your skills, our Caving SRT Training Course is designed to build confidence and competence underground. Course Options & Pricing 🔹 Open Course (2 Days) £225 per person, per day 🔹 Private Courses (price per person, per day): 1:1 – £275 2 people – £160 3 people – £140 4 people – £120 👉 If you're new to SRT, you will need at least 2 days of training, but longer courses are available if required. 👉 Refresher sessions are available but must be booked as a private course. Day 2 - This day is dependant upon progress on day 1 but generally we will head underground to put the skills into practice under the close supervision of our instructor. Caving Taster Experience
Explore the hidden world beneath your feet on a full day of guided caving in the Peak District.This caving experience is ideal if you're keen to try caving for the first time or want a more relaxed introduction to this fascinating underground activity. With expert instruction and flexible options, it's the perfect starting point for your caving journey. What to Expect After meeting your instructor at 9.30am, we’ll drive a short distance to the chosen cave. Once you’re kitted out and ready to go, we’ll run through a full safety briefing before heading underground.Depending on the day and local conditions, we’ll either explore one cave system in depth or split the day between two contrasting caves. You’ll learn how caves form, spot natural features and formations, and explore a range of underground passageways – mostly horizontal in nature.This full day experience allows us to go further than our shorter sessions and gives you a proper insight into the underground world. There’s no rush – the pace is steady, and your instructor will adapt the route to suit the group.We often bring along ropes and ladders, so if you’re feeling adventurous and want to try a short descent or climb, there may be a chance to add a little extra challenge. However, these elements are completely optional, and a more technical progression is covered on our Intermediate Caving and SRT courses . Cave Rigging Course
Our Cave Rigging course is aimed at people who have caved before and have done some SRT caving or been on our SRT course. This 2 day course will teach you all aspects of how to rig safely and efficiently whilst moving through vertical cave systems. We tend to run these courses from a Yorkshire base, primarily because we have more wet weather options up there and also access to an indoor purpose built SRT facility. The course will run initially using the indoor facility, then we will use a variety of different caves to help build and develop your skills. Our CIC qualified instructors will take you through this process in a safe and controlled manner with us looking after you throughout. We run this course with a min of 2 people and max of 4 people. You will need to have your own SRT equipment although we do have spares. This course will give you a great insight into cave rigging and how to stay safe in this underground world. It will also give you a better understanding of the equipment and how to look after it and check that its fit for purpose. This is a great skills based course delivered by staff with the highest caving qualifications. This is an opportunity to try this in the safest way possible by using a well established company that has been operating in the Peak District for 15 years. Abseil & Cave Multi Activity Day
Two of our most popular activities – in one unforgettable day.Looking for a full day of adventure in the Peak District? This combined experience blends the thrill of abseiling with the excitement of underground exploration, making it a great choice for adventurous individuals, families, and groups.We’ll start the day with multiple abseils from the impressive Millers Dale Viaduct – a stunning spot to test your nerve and build confidence. In the afternoon, we head underground to explore a natural cave system, where you’ll take on challenges such as abseiling underground or navigating optional squeeze sections. It’s a day packed with variety, adrenaline, and the chance to try something completely different. What to Expect We’ll meet at the start time and begin the day with abseiling at Millers Dale Viaduct, a spectacular location in the heart of the Peak District. You’ll be kitted out with a helmet and harness before walking a short way to the bridge. After a safety briefing and a demonstration, it’s straight into the action.Each participant will get multiple chances to abseil – with time to grow confidence and improve with each go. The morning session wraps up in time for lunch – you can bring a packed lunch or pop into the café on site to purchase food.After lunch, we’ll head to a local cave (around 15 minutes’ drive away), where your instructor will provide all the necessary caving kit. Underground, we’ll explore a range of passages and features, with the option to try an underground abseil or take on some fun squeeze challenges – but only if you fancy it. Half Day Vertical Caving Experience
Explore a different side of caving – with abseils and short climbs underground. This half-day vertical caving experience is a step up from our standard horizontal caving trip, offering the chance to reach different sections of the cave system using simple rope techniques. You’ll still get to enjoy moving through a variety of passages – but with a bit of added adventure thrown in. What to Expect This experience is ideal if you're keen to try caving with a bit more challenge – but without jumping straight into a full day course. It's all about exploring at a steady pace, learning new skills, and having a go at something different underground. After meeting your instructor and getting kitted out, we’ll walk to the cave entrance and do a quick safety briefing before heading below ground. You’ll explore a natural cave system, moving through a variety of passages. What makes this trip different from our standard half-day caving experience is that you’ll also have the chance to abseil down a short drop within the cave and climb back up using a wire ladder. It’s a great way to access different areas of the system that aren’t reachable on foot alone – and adds a fun new element to the adventure. The vertical sections are short and fully supervised. We’ll show you how everything works before you go anywhere near the rope, and there’s no pressure – you can choose whether or not to have a go on the day.
