Breamore House Tour
As you travel through the house on one of our guided tours, you’ll get a sense of what life was like in the 18th Century. Our experienced guides take small groups around on a journey through the house, explaining the story behind our set rooms and pointing out all the hidden details. The tour will cover all aspects of life in the manor house from staterooms, intimate living quarters, social spaces and functional rooms.
Countryside Museum
The Breamore Countryside Museum is a post war village museum that showcases staged sets depicting traditional village life. On exhibition is a collection of scenes including a dairy, blacksmiths, school, leather worker, village cottage and more. The Museum has a particular focus on old farm machinery, where it holds an impressive collection of tractors and steam engines. Our functioning workshop and traction engine are some of the few remaining operational pieces on exhibition in the UK.
Power and Machinery from the Past
Join us on 11–12 July as we celebrate the Industrial Revolution’s combustion engine at our pre-1950s Countryside Museum. This year, we are delighted to welcome the Crossley Brothers of Manchester's Engines to celebrate 150 years of the ground breaking 'Otto Four-Stroke Patent' - the revolutionary system that underpins the operation of most modern day internal combustion engines. On display will be some of the earliest Crossley engines, along with historic cars and commercial lorries, and we are expecting a remarkable gathering of more than 100 engines across the weekend. Alongside this extraordinary showcase of engineering history, Breamore’s Countryside Museum and House will also be open for you to explore and enjoy.
