Power and Machinery from the Past

Overview

Join us on 11–12 July as we celebrate the Industrial Revolution’s combustion engine at our pre-1950s Countryside Museum.

This year, we are delighted to welcome the Crossley Brothers of Manchester's Engines to celebrate 150 years of the ground breaking 'Otto Four-Stroke Patent' - the revolutionary system that underpins the operation of most modern day internal combustion engines.

On display will be some of the earliest Crossley engines, along with historic cars and commercial lorries, and we are expecting a remarkable gathering of more than 100 engines across the weekend.

Alongside this extraordinary showcase of engineering history, Breamore’s Countryside Museum and House will also be open for you to explore and enjoy.
