About Linden Place

Linden Place is a historic estate museum and arts center located in the heart of downtown Bristol, RI. The 1810 Federal-period mansion and accompanying ballroom, sculpture garden, and outbuildings built by one of America’s wealthiest and most influential families is today a museum at the center of the region’s cultural and artistic life. By interpreting one family’s 200-year journey through American life, Linden Place invites visitors to delve into the complexities of the country’s history and learn more about the state, nation, and themselves. Inspired by the many artists and artists’ patrons who have walked these grounds, Linden Place’s programming is focused on literature, the arts, and American history.
