We will then pass through Trevor Basin which leads us on to the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. We will cross this, not once, but twice! Your food will be at your table when you board the boat ready for you to eat at your leisure and once we have set off your drinks will be brought to your table. Watch the fish swim lazily by in the clear water delivered fresh from the River Dee as your boat glides silently through the Welsh mountains. This length of canal has been designated as a World Heritage Site 2 Hour Public Horse Drawn Boat Trip to see the Horseshoe Falls. Trips depart at various times so please check our website for times on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season and Tuesdays in the school holidays. This is the perfect thing to do whatever the weather, our modern purpose built boats have both inside and outside seating areas.Take in the splendour of the Horseshoe Falls at the head of the canal. It's a leisurely ride along the last stretch of the Llangollen canal, not navigable by any other boats.A stop at the end allows you to admire the Chain Bridge across the River Dee, and marvel at the man-made Horseshoe Falls, another masterpiece by Thomas Telford. It is a peaceful and leisurely ride along the last stretch of the Llangollen Canal, not navigable by any other boats.We turn round by the sidings of the the Llangollen Steam Railway before returning to our starting point. This is possibly the most beautiful length of canal you will ever see, and the horse drawn trip is definitely the most peaceful and relaxing way to see it. Our 32 foot (11m approx) narrow boat is now available for day hire. This is a perfect way for a family, group of friends or a corporate team to have their own private boat for the day. Self-steer only (don't worry, you can do it!), the boat accommodates up to 10 passengers. Luxuriously fitted out, the boat has heating, hot and cold running water and a flushing toilet. There are gas rings for cooking and crockery & utensils are supplied. Steering tuition is given on arrival. Hiring the boat between 9:30 and 17:00 gives plenty of time for a leisurely cruise along the beautiful Llangollen Canal, and an unforgettable passage across the famous Aqueduct at Pontcysyllte. Your turn around point is the lift bridge after the Aqueduct - a round trip of about 10 miles. There is a folder on board detailing the pubs and restaurants along the way, together with their telephone numbers and menus should you wish to book ahead. *Please note: for this activity, you are hiring 1 boat.Therefore where it says 'How many people are in your party?' - Please select '1' from the drop-down box. Boarding at Llangollen Wharf at 6pm, you will reach the Falls at  6.45pm, you will have an hour to yourself to explore the falls and the chain bridge.  Back on  board the boat for the return trip at 7.45pm returning to Llangollen at 8.30pm. This is a, two and a half hour Horse Drawn Boat Trip taking you along the Canal through some truly unspoilt parts, onto the Horse Shoe Falls, and the Chain Bridge which spans the River Dee. It is definitely a must see, and a great photo opportunity. The Falls are a five minute walk from the Chain Bridge. This is a peaceful, step back in time experience taking in all the sights and sounds of the canal. Your Grazing box will be given to you when you check in for your trip for you to take on board the boat, you can eat this at your leisure as you are cruising along, or take it with you to the Falls and enjoy it on the banks of the river Dee. Drinks will be served on the boat.
