Group Canoe Sessions
Enjoy a fun-filled session on the water with your friends, family, or group. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, planning a day out with friends, or simply looking to test your paddling skills, our group canoe sessions are a great way to get active and enjoy the outdoors together.
How Much Does a Group Session Cost?
The price of a group session depends on the number of people attending. Please contact us for a quote based on your group size.
All sessions are led by a qualified instructor, ensuring safety, confidence, and support throughout the activity. Anyone who needs extra help will have the opportunity to learn new skills during the session.
Location
Sessions usually start at Tapton Lock on the Chesterfield Canal, where your instructor will meet you.
All safety equipment will be provided, including buoyancy aids and dry bags for any personal items you want to keep dry.
Alternative locations may be arranged upon request.
What Happens During a Session?
When you arrive, your instructor will welcome the group and provide a safety briefing along with all necessary equipment.
You will then learn:
All of our paddle sport instructors are fully qualified and insured to lead group sessions on the canal or at alternative approved locations.

What You Need to Bring Please bring the following items with you:
Please be aware there are no changing facilities at tapton loch.
- How to safely get onto the water
- How to control and steer your craft
- How to stand up on the craft and safely get back on if you fall in
- A guided journey along the canal
- Fun games and challenges
- Skill development activities
What We Provide Your session includes:
- Canoe
- Paddle
- Licence fee to use the waterway
- Buoyancy aid
- Expert instruction and guidance
What You Need to Bring Please bring the following items with you:
- A change of clothes
- Snacks and a drink
- Your own wetsuit (optional)
- Old trainers or footwear you don’t mind getting wet
- A large towel
- Any required medication
- Participants under 18 must have the form completed by a parent or guardian.
