Our closest supplier, Holyrood Distillery is less than 200m from the Dalkeith Road shop. The distillery was opened in 2019 and has become known for experimental production using a myriad of different yeasts, malts, casks and production techniques – in essence, the ‘craft beerification’ of whisky, being totally honest and not just using the highest yielding ingredients to maximise production. Their recent Noir series which we will be trying is a great example of this ethos. Not many distilleries are brave enough to take this very modern approach so we’re lucky to have them.Jack will be leading the tasting, taking us through their range of hyper-local whiskies. 5.30-8pm both evenings. "Drop in" anytime you fancy within the time slot.  Pick a "tasting flight" of three 125ml different glasses of wine for £15 (great wines) or 3 glasses of premium wine for £21.00 (really great wines). Choose which level you want. Choose whites or reds or a mix. Enjoy!  You can taste more of your favourite wine for £6 or £9 a 125ml glass depending on which quality you choose.  OR, choose one glass of a bogglingly good  wine at £16 a 125ml glass (£30-£50 retail a bottle!) There may be "walk-in spaces" which must be purchased in the shop next door. SCOTTISH LICENSING LAWS APPLY. NO UNDER 18. There may be walk-in ticket spaces available to purchase in the shop next door. We have the right to refuse service, if so, no refunds will be given.

An expert from Great Grog will be leading you through 5 wines in 45 minutes in our tasting room next-door to the Pleasance GrogShop.  You will get 5 wines (hand-poured approx 1/3 a glass of each) to try.  Wines approx £10-£20 retail price selected from the 500 wines in the shops. No previous wine tasting experience required.   You will wander off happier and more informed whatever your prior wine knowledge.  What better way to enhance your Edinburgh Fringe day?!  Each session will have a different mix of wines and we will be varying expert tutors too.
