You’ll view the Hangman hills the highest sea cliffs in mainland Britain along the way. There is ample time to look out for the local wildlife including various seabirds such as fulmars, oystercatchers and cormorants. There are peregrine falcons nesting in the sea cliffs and in the water we have regular sightings of, dolphins, porpoise, sunfish, and seals. You will get to visit small secluded beaches, coves, secret inlets, and hidden caves many of which can only be reached by kayak.  You will get to see some of the best views that this area has to offer and have the reassurance of being accompanied by British Canoeing qualified, full-time kayak guide. Our kayak tours start with the one-hour guided mini tour. Suitable for everyone regardless of age or experience. Great for beginners and families with younger children. We have discovered through years of experience that for most young children one hour on the water is enough for them. Your kayaking adventure will begin at our shop where you will be introduced to your guide. After a short safety brief you will be fitted with your buoyancy aid and walk to the beach - which is 80 metres from our shop - where your kayaks will be waiting at the waters edge. For this experience we use double kayaks. If you would prefer to have a single kayak, please let us know. We can only offer single kayaks to children over the age of 13.  You will paddle out along the coastline heading to Mermaid Cove and onto Pirate Bay. We will point out all the points of interest along the way and bring you safely back to Combe Martin. Surfside tour guides are all experienced British Canoeing Qualified Paddlesport Leaders and full-time kayak guides. We are experienced at guiding families on the water, ensuring your safety and enjoyment. Instruction available. Surfside are located just 80 metres from Combe Martin beach, your paddle board will be either on the beach waiting for you or taken to the waters edge for you. We have full changing facilities at our base so just bring what you need.
