Our clay pigeon shooting site is nestled in the heart of Graythwaite Estate, on the shores of Windermere, where we love to welcome first timers and experienced shots alike. We specialise in running relaxed sessions in a fun and informative environment.  Following an introduction by your instructor, there'll be a short all-important safety briefing before moving on to tuition and hitting clays.  We’ve a great track record for advancing novices through to consistently breaking a variety of targets and we love it when guests succeed. We offer two tuition packages; a 25-shot and a 50-shot experience. For first timers, we recommend 25 shots and for those more experienced, 50 shots and an increased variety of targets is a great choice. The recommended minimum age is 8 years, however some juniors aren't quite so comfortable with gun handling at this age, so we suggest that parents are best placed to make a judgement on this. We offer only private experiences so regardless of numbers (minimum 2 guests) you'll have exclusive use of the clay shooting site with a dedicated qualified coach. What to expect. For those wanting to improve their aim or perhaps try something new, archery and axe throwing is one of our most popular activities and a lot of fun. Enjoyed as individual activities or bookable together, with the chance to exercise your archery skills whilst having a go at the ever increasingly popular sport of axe throwing. Our friendly and experienced instructor will provide the all-important safety briefing followed by expert tuition for novices and those more experienced . Here's your chance to channel your inner Robin Hood and have a go at axe throwing; once the preserve of lumberjack competitions in the USA this activity has been embraced by the British public and is super fun and competitive. Surrounded by peace and quiet and Lakeland estate land, this is the perfect location to learn something new or brush up on your aim. What to expect. For those seeking a real outdoor experience, join us for an introduction to bushcraft experience in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Graythwaite Estate, 5,000 acres of managed woodland, parkland and lake frontage on the shores of Lake Windermere. Sessions are fun, informative and engaging, particularly for any children in your party, as we immerse ourselves in the great outdoors where you'll hopefully leave with some new skills.  Join us in a place where tech and time are forgotten, temporarily.  Following an introduction by your instructor you'll head to our bushcraft base whilst chatting about the local surroundings, nature and the origins of bushcraft techniques.  You'll focus on three of the essentials; shelter, fire and food.  You'll build a simple shelter and learn how to use a flint and steel to make a fire.  Once the fire's roaring you'll boil the ghillie kettle to make hot drinks and toast marshmallows. Have you tried s'mores? Toasted marshmallows between chocolate digestives ... they're lip smackingly good.  Nothing makes us happier than sharing the natural beauty of the great outdoors with guests. Hop on board our skippered BRIG Navigator RIB for a fun tour on Windermere. With seats for up to 9 passengers, there's plenty of space for you and your family and friends too. From exploring the quiet bays and wildlife spotting, to seeing some of the lake’s most impressive homes from the water. Booked for the hour, our skipper drives whilst you sit back and take in the stunning surroundings.  You may choose the hour tour, or for something special call us to discuss a bespoke experience.
