Overview
During this unique and exclusive driving package you'll experience the evolution of off-road driving. For the first hour, you'll tackle our course in one of the last generation of Land Rover Defenders before then doing the same in the INEOS Grenadier. Both vehicles have their own merits and driving them back to back gives you the chance of a genuine comparison. The tried and tested mechanics of the Defender provide huge capability on testing terrain but the Grenadier, with it's state of the art components and technological advancements, retains much of the DNA of the 4x4 icon but arguably with significant improvements. One of our favourite parts of this experience is hearing your verdict at the end.
With careful planning and consideration for the natural landscape, we’ve designed the Lake District’s only off-road course with BORDA (British Off Road Driving Association) accreditation and BORDA qualified instructors providing expert tuition. Not only that, guests enjoy unrivalled views from the summit. We love to teach first time drivers and improve the skills of more experienced off-roaders. Whether you're a solo traveller or a party of 4, you'll have your own vehicle and dedicated qualified instructor.
- Your two and a half hour experience involves two hours of driving.
- Each vehicle comfortably holds 4 adults who can either share the driving or, as with children, just enjoy the ride.
Our vehicles; Graythwaite Adventure are proud to be brand ambassadors for the INEOS Grenadier and since the first time we sat behind the wheel of an early prototype, we've been blown away by them. We're passionate about sharing the experience and showcasing the Grenadier's incredible off-road capabilities. The one-hour experience is ideal for anyone who has followed the vehicle's journey and now wants to see what the hype is all about in the Grenadier's natural habitat; off-highway. The Land Rover Defender is considered by some to be the original and best 4x4. In Land Rover's own words, off-roading is all about going 'as slow as possible and as fast as necessary' and believe us, this is the most fun you'll ever have at 5mph!
Following recent controversy within the National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site it’s important to point out that we avoid green lanes and this activity is carried out in an environmentally sustainable way on private land on a course accredited by the British Off Road Driving Association and the IOPD, that is constantly maintained.
