Overview As promised to our Spitfire Lounge guests from the Aero Legends Battle of Britain Show at RAF Woodchurch, we're delighted to offer this exclusive experience at our base at North Weald Aerodrome. Spend time up close with a genuine Spitfire, with the opportunity to sit in the cockpit and take a closer look around the aircraft, followed by a guided tour of our Dakota, where you'll also have the chance to sit inside.

Sessions available: Morning (9:30am – 12:30pm) or Afternoon (1:30pm – 4:30pm) Roughly includes:

• 15 minutes with the Spitfire
• 40 minute tour of the Dakota

Available dates: Thursday 15th October, Friday 16th October, Saturday 17th October, Sunday 18th October
Please note: Rough timings on the day will be given once you arrive, rather than a fixed appointment slot. As this is a popular experience shared between guests, there may be some waiting time between your Spitfire visit and Dakota tour. As this is a working airfield, seating is limited, so if you or anyone in your party is elderly or would benefit from somewhere to sit while waiting, please bring your own chair.

Both aircraft require a degree of agility to climb up into, so please bear this in mind when booking.

The Rosy Lee Café is located across the airfield. As North Weald is a working airfield, please drive across with your hazard lights on. Only bottled water is available at the hangar itself, for any other food or drinks, please visit the café.
