Join us for a celebration of the Autumn season with a private tour of the Deene Park gardens. As the weather cools, our gardens transition into a vibrant autumnal colour palette of yellow, orange and brown.  Andrew, our Head Gardener, will walk you through the gardens, soaking up the beautiful seasonal changes including Acer trees, Persian ironwood trees ( Parrotia persica ), tulip trees ( Liriodendron tulipifera ) and the majestic Katsura tree ( Cercidiphyllum japonicum ) which is always a striking feature because of its magnificent colours and scent of candy floss.   The woodland walk will be covered in beautiful cyclamen .  This autumnal tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and ends at the Old Kitchen Tea Room for a warming bowl of soup and sandwiches. Some surfaces may be slippery when wet and we suggest wearing sturdy walking shoes or wellington boots with suitable outdoor clothing, especially in wet weather. All tickets must be pre-booked online before your visit, we are unable to accept visitors on the day. Join us as we mark the anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade with a house tour centred around the Crimean War and the 7th Earl of Cardigan. Enjoy a tour of this lived-in family home as we explore the infamous Charge of the Light Brigade and how the Crimean War became the first media war. We'll also delve into the life of the 7th Earl and his family, and look back at photographs of the Balaklava Centenary dinner held at Deene in 1954. The tour ends with a visit to St. Peter's Church where visitors will have exclusive access to the Brudenell family tomb and the final resting place of the 7th Earl and his wife Adeline.
