Portland is a magnificent coastal venue offering a plethora of climbing opportunity a stones throw from the sea.  We will climb at Cheyenne Wears, a beautiful Jurassic Coastline spot featuring the classic white-grey limestone and chert bed cliffs. A small lay-by area provides off road parking. Overview   We will meet you in the lay-by / carpark as shown in the link on google maps.  A short walk from the car will bring us to the cliff top and an array of huge square boulders, originally quarried on the Island.  Having briefly discussed the session and arranged safety gear for everyone, we will follow the short path down to the base of the cliffs and get started with some climbing. There are many climbs to choose from, ranging from relatively easy to very challenging routes to the top - something for everyone.  We can fit an abseil in during the course of the day if participants wish.  Their will be some flexibility over the course of the day, and staying within a general framework, we will endeavor to accommodate the inclinations of the group on the day.  Who is the day for those who haven't been rock climbing before  those who have done a little climbing on a top rope inside, but haven't climbed outside before  those who have climbed on a top rope outside before, had great fun doing so, and want to climb more outside!  those who have or haven't abseiled before    Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian   Inclusions What's Included 🧰 Equipment - All Safety Equipment   What you'll need 🧤 Warm Clothing - just in case ☂️ Waterproofs - just in case 🍴 Food - for the day 🥤 Drink - water for the day

Climbing and Abseiling Adventure at Wintour's Leap   Climbing, abseiling and a touch of scrambling at the beautiful and inspiring venue of Wintour's Leap in the Lower Wye Valley. Overview of the day Having met you in the car park and arranged gear for everyone, we will walk down through the woods, passing the picturesque Church of Saint James and Medieval Village, to the base of the cliffs at Wintour's Leap (20-30 minutes).  From here we will set up climbs to suit a range of abilities, shorter and easier climbs together with higher more difficult climbs for those who want a challenge. Abseiling is also an option at this point.  With the aid of appropriate ropes any willing parties can safely abseil from a large ledge know as the Broadwalk, the exposure is likely to get the heart racing! Having climbed and maybe abseiled we will embark on an 80m  high scramble, out of the Valley, back up to the road.  Having safely reached the large ledge, the Broadwalk, the scramble continues upwards through the trees, past a small cave, negotiating numerous ledges, to a lengthy roped section of exciting climbing, finishing with a somewhat exposed scramble to the top.   Depending on the group and time, we may be able to fit a longer abseil in, a short walk from reaching the top of the scramble.
