Meet the Lambs

Overview

Meet the Lambs

Meet the lambs is back for the fourth year! Our meet the lambs event aims to provide educational, hands on sessions suitable for all ages.

You will learn about the lambing season including care of the ewes and our lambing process. You will then be able to hold the lambs and learn about their development. You will even have the opportunity to bottle feed the lambs. We do have heavily pregnant ewes in the lambing shed so if you are lucky you may see a live lambing!

We cap our 45 minute sessions to small numbers to ensure everyone gets the best out of the experience. We encourage everyone to ask questions and take lots of photos for you and your family.

Please read the information below carefully before booking. Please note that children must be supervised by one responsible adult. Unsupervised children will not be permitted. The adult will also require a ticket to the event.

Parking
Please park in the Brook House Farm Shop car park, SK10 4QY. Look out for us (Lorna and Jonty) near the shop, we will be in our farm gear.  Please arrive promptly for your session. If you are late please ask the staff in the farm shop to bring you in to the session as we may have started.

Wellies
We recommend wearing wellies or walking boots… after all you’re coming to a farm!

Lamb Petting
We cannot guarantee that you will see the birth of a lamb however we will have pregnant ewes that will be due anytime! These sessions are organised so that everyone will get the chance to pet the lambs. Please be mindful that lambs can have accidents and it may not be a good idea to wear your Sunday best!

Hygiene/Toilet facilities
The toilet on the farm yard and in the farm shop will be open for you to use. We would encourage all individuals to wash their hands after touching the animals. We will also provide hand sanitiser and ask that everybody attending the session apply sanitiser before and after entering the lambing shed.

Pregnant Women
We advise that pregnant women do not come to the farm during lambing season. There is a risk that coming into contact with sheep and lambs during pregnancy may cause health complications.

Health and safety
We ask that all individuals attending the sessions remain in the designated lambing shed at all times. We are a busy working farm and want to keep everybody safe! All children must be supervised by an adult during the session. All people in the lambing shed will require a ticket. Children who do not have an accompanying adult will not be permitted.

Refreshments
As many of you will know we have a wide variety of refreshments at Brook House Farm Shop. Following your session please visit the shop and cafe for lunch, there is plenty of choice.

Your experience
Please feel free to take plenty of photos! We would love to see them and if you are happy to please do tag Brook House Farm Shop! We really hope you all enjoy meeting the lambs. During the session there will be opportunities for questions.
