Do you know a young aspiring zookeeper? The WILD! Explorers Society experience is perfect for young people aged 8-14 years old, offering a full day of hands-on learning about a variety of species and the skills needed to care for them. From cleaning and feeding to habitat design and enrichment-making, this interactive experience gives participants a true insight into the world of zookeeping.
What’s Included?

What to Expect? During Part 2, Explorers will build on their knowledge from Part 1 and take part in interactive, hands-on activities, including:
- Animal training – learn how keepers work with animals to encourage natural behaviours
- Collaborative enrichment design – create exciting new experiences to enhance animal welfare
- Conservation awareness – understand the role of zoos in global wildlife protection
The WILD Curriculum This experience is inspired by our WILD Curriculum, which focuses on four key pillars:

Important Information
🦺 Dress appropriately – wear sturdy boots or wellies and weather-appropriate clothing, as you’ll be working outdoors in all conditions!
🦸 No need for an adult to accompany – all our staff are DBS-certified. Participants can be dropped off at 10 AM and picked up at 3 PM.📅 This booking is for one participant for Part 2 on Saturday 20th March 2027. Completion of Part 1 is required to join Part 2.
