Pumpkin Festival Autumn has landed at The Shed! This October half-term, we’re taking things up a notch. Pumpkin Festival is our brand-new celebration of everything we love about this time of year — colourful countryside, crisp autumn days, good food, great company and a little bit of muddy-fun thrown in for good measure.  Forget the traditional pumpkin patch. We’re creating something that feels unmistakably Goat Shed: an immersive autumn day out, right here on our farm in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. Get creative this Christmas with our ever-popular Festive Wreath Workshops, in collaboration with the wonderful Hannah from local florist  Fern Flowers .  Join us at Goat Shed for a relaxed, festive workshop where you’ll learn how to create your very own beautiful Christmas wreath, guided step-by-step by an experienced florist.  Whether you’re a seasoned wreath-maker or have never picked up a pair of floristry scissors before, you’ll be shown everything you need to create something you’re proud to hang on your front door this Christmas.  Fern Flowers will provide everything you need to create your wreath, with plenty of expert guidance, tips and tricks along the way, including how to keep your finished creation looking fresh throughout the festive season. You’ll spend the session learning the techniques behind building your wreath, adding your foliage and decorations and putting your own festive twist on the finished design. Step beyond the gate and into the Cow Shed for a very special, hands-on calf experience, exclusive to Goat Shed. Calf Cuddles sessions are all about getting up close and personal with this year’s calves. In these small-group sessions, you’ll meet the calves, learn all about them and help us get them looking their best — brushes at the ready.  We launched Calf Cuddles for the first time this spring and, safe to say, you loved them. Demand was incredible, and we’ve already had customers getting in touch asking when they can book their next visit. So, we’re bringing them back for weekends throughout October and the October half-term.  We’ve got dates penciled into the diary, but there’s just one little thing standing in our way…Mother Nature gets the final say. We’re expecting calves to be born here at Goat Shed throughout September, and until we know exactly when our newest arrivals are here, we can’t commit to the October sessions just yet.  The health, wellbeing and welfare of our calves will always come first, so we’ll only release dates once we’re confident they’re ready! Led by a member of the Goat Shed team, you’ll be guided from the paddock, through the gates and up onto the concrete pad by the Cow Shed. Once there, we’ll introduce you to our herd — sharing their names, personalities, daily routines and the history of how they became part of Goat Shed. And if you’re feeling brave, you’ll even have the chance to feed the cows yourself when you purchase a £2.00 bag of Cow feed at the checkout. Our ‘Hoof it’ around Honingham is a monthly walk, normally on the first Monday of each month, starting off at 2:00pm from the Goat Shed with a member of the Goat Shed team. The route is around 5km, four legged friends are welcome and afterwards you can enjoy refreshments back at the Goat Shed. Our walks are a great chance to catch up with our regular walkers and to meet new members of the community, while taking in our beautiful local countryside.

Join one of our talented butchers in the Goat Shed Butchery and get hands-on experience making your very own traditional pork sausages.Learn the process of how we make our very own traditional pork sausages using locally farmed pork from The Allen’s at Morley Farm on the Holkham Estate in North Norfolk and take home what you make at the end of the course.We will talk you through the basics of sausage making, the equipment, the ingredients needed, and the art of linking sausages before giving you the chance to mix, fill and link your very own sausages. Depending on the size and how well you link, you can take up to 30 of your very own sausages home to enjoy.This workshop starts at 6:00pm, and is perfect for beginners, no previous experience is needed. After the workshop, you will have the opportunity to look around the farm shop and make any purchases if you wish. Group bookings are available upon request. CHEESE-MAKING COURSE   Join us for a full-day, hands-on workshop where you’ll dive into the delightful world of cheese-making, right here at Fielding Cottage — home to our famous goat’s cheese since 2009 WHAT TO EXPECT: Cheese Science 101: We’ll guide you through the fascinating science behind cheese-making. Dairy Tour: Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our state-of-the-art dairy. Hands-On Experience: Roll up your sleeves and craft your very own cheese under the expert guidance of our team. Grazing Board Lunch: Enjoy a relaxed lunch in our Goat Shed Kitchen with a grazing board featuring a selection of our homemade goodies.  TAKEAWAYS:   Leave with your handmade cheese, a certificate, and a booklet covering everything you’ve learned. GOOD TO KNOW: Age Requirement: Suitable for ages 17 and up. Accessibility: The day involves a fair bit of standing. Compliance is a must for everyone’s safety. Group Size: Courses require a minimum of six participants. Cancellations made up to 14 days before date of selected cheese course, will be offered a course on an alternative date.  If there are no immediate suitable future dates, we can provide a voucher to be redeemed for a future course. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start date of the course are non-refundable and non-transferable. However you may send someone in your place.
