What to do on our farm : Bottle feed the Lambs and Calves at set times in the small animal barn.  Lamb feeding is 11am, 1pm & 3pm, running from February half term to 31st August every year.  Calf feeding is 12pm & 3.30pm all year round.  Check our website or speak to a member of staff for what's on our daily schedule. Come and hand feed the Cows, Sheep, Donkeys, Llamas, Goats & Ponies. Brush and pet the rabbits & guinea pigs in the small animal barn. See the Ducks waddling around, check out the Chickens,  Turkeys and Cockerels.  Enjoy our outdoor play areas, the beach area with slides & swings, and our adventure playground, zip lines and sledges. We also have ride on tractors for the little ones. The Café is open 10am to 5pm weekends and school holidays and 10am to 4pm on Mondays termtime. Sit back and relax inside our café with our selection of hot & cold food, warm drinks & ice cream. We have outdoor seating at the snack baa. You can bring a picnic for your own lunch and grab a picnic table  in our designated outdoor picnic spaces only.    PLEASE NOTE: The farm is open until 4pm so you can stay as long as you like. Sheep and cattle can carry infections around lambing and calving time. The play barn is open from 10am to 4pm. If you are booking both the farm and play barn please allow yourself enough time to complete both activities as the play barn sessions are timed. We are accepting online bookings or pay on arrival. Please note tickets are non-refundable as per our Terms and Conditions when booking online. Become a farmer for the afternoon and spend some time with a real farmer on our Yorkshire working farm. Get away from the crazy, and enjoy time outdoors in stunning West Yorkshire. Minimum age for children is 6 years old, to enjoy this experience. Shadow a member of the Swithens Farm team as they go about their daily tasks feeding and looking after the animals. Teachers book your school trip to Swithens Farm here. Advanced bookings only please.  We charge £9.00 +VAT (£10.80) per child (minimum of 30 children), which includes entry to the petting farm and the outdoor playground, a tub of carrots, a guided tour of the animals, bottle feeding the lambs/calves, and a tractor ride.  School trips are from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00p.m, Tuesday to Friday in TERM TIME ONLY, between March and September every year.  We offer sandwich boxes for the children, minimum order 12 boxes. They are £5 each & include sandwiches (choose from ham, jam, cheese & tuna), a packet of crisps, chocolate role & a piece of fruit. A dilute juice is also included, or you can upgrade to a fruit shoot for 50p extra per child. We can provide risk assessments but recommend you do your own risk assessment for the farm and outdoor playground. We take up to 90 children at a time and if there are over 30 they are split into groups with one group going around the animals while the other group are in the outdoor playground. There may be other schools on site on the same day and/or members of the public. We allow 1 teacher or carer free per 4 children.  We can work around curriculums and organise demonstrations and/or activities depending on the time of year. If a school trip is cancelled less that 7 days prior to the trip date, 50% of the balance will be due. We have cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys, llamas, alpacas, Highland cows, rabbits and guinea pigs. We have a covered area where the children can have a picnic. This is only a covered area and is still open to the elements – not properly indoors.

Book your child's party!  Parties available Fridays Saturday and Sunday only. Party bookings are a minimum of 15 children, maximum of 25.  They are always from 4:15 pm to 6pm. The children have 1 hour in the play barn, half an hour to eat party food and blow out the candles (please provide the cake).  They then go to see the animals, each child gets a box of chopped carrots to feed the animals.  We then go back into the play barn to collect party bags (optional extra if you would like us to arrange this) and go home.  £12.95 per child.  - Cold food is a choice of sandwich (ham, cheese, tuna mayo or jam), a packet of crisps, a piece of fruit, sweet treat, all in an animal box.  £14.95 per child. Hot food is Chicken nuggets & chips, pizza & chips, hot dog sausage (no bread) & chips or pasta with tomato sauce, and a sweet treat.   The party food is only a small meal and is not expected to replace a child’s main meal, this is to ensure we have sufficient time after eating to go to see the animals.  All party bookings are to be confirmed with a £80.00 non-refundable deposit.  You can add party bags at £3 per child.  The party is always 4.15 p.m. to 6.00 p.m, which is after the play barn has closed to the general public. The play barn is then exclusive for your party.
