Elan Valley Mountain Biking: Epic Riding in Mid Wales

Overview

NEW for 2026        4th July 2026
⚡️E-bike Event

If you're looking for a truly memorable mountain biking experience in Wales, Elan Valley should be at the top of your list. Set amongst a spectacular backdrop of Victorian dams, sparkling reservoirs, and a wild, open landscape, this ride is as rewarding for the scenery as it is for the trail itself. A remote and rugged gem in the heart of Powys, the Elan Valley is part of the Cambrian Mountains — often called "the last wilderness in Wales."   This 30-mile loop is not for the faint-hearted. With 1,100 metres of climbing, technical sections, and remote terrain, it’s a serious day out on the bike. But the payoff? Unmatched descents, jaw-dropping valley views, and the satisfaction of conquering one of Wales’ best hidden MTB gems.
