New Group Reservation Request (Deposit Required)

Overview

Thank you for your interest in visiting Cave of the Mounds National Natural Landmark.

The heart of any visit to Cave of the Mounds is the Cave Tour.  You may also select from among many other activities, such as Mini Courses, Cave Miner packs, etc., detailed on our Groups webpage.

Steps to make a request:
Choose Number of Participants (Cave Tour “Tickets”)
    • Enter the number of children, youth, and adults
Select a Date & Time Slot
    • Field trips are booked on the hour or half hour starting at 9:30 AM.
    • Choose a general window for your start time:
      • 9:00 AM (until 1:00 PM) or
      • 1:00 PM (until 4:00 PM)
    • During checkout, you can specify your exact preferred start time.
Select Above-Ground Activities (“Add-Ons”)
    • Choose from Mini Courses, Gemstone Mining (“sluicing”), Geodes, and more.
Checkout
    • Provide additional details and notes.

Important Details
  • Reservations are only final after we have confirmed your request. 
  • When your request is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email including an invoice. At this time we will also charge a $100 deposit to your credit card.   This deposit will count towards your final balance.
  • If our calendar cannot accommodate your request, we will contact you within the next few business days to explore alternative dates and times.
  • Reservation deposits are not refundable but are transferable for up to 1 year.
  • The remaining balance may be paid by credit card over the phone, by check, or in person.

Ticket availability

Tickets are on sale until 14 days before the experience starts, but may sell out sooner, so don't miss out!

Ticket requirements

Cave Tour - Children (Age 1 through 6th Grade) or Cave Tour - Youth (7th Grade through 12th Grade) or Cave Tour - Adults (All teachers, chaperones, and bus drivers) tickets must be purchased together with at least 1 Reservation Deposit (required) ticket.
