Winter conditions can feel intimidating and perhaps overwhelming but with the right knowledge, skills and confidence a whole world of exhilarating and unique adventures await. This course will equip you with all the skills to undertake winter mountain walks and build on your summer hill walking and mountaineering experience.

Crag 2 Mountain’s Rock Adventure experience is the perfect opportunity to climb Dartmoor’s impressive granite Tors. Climb in one of the UK’s most iconic climbing locations with highly experienced guides. Our 3 hour Rock Adventure experience is ideal for families and children to have a go at Rock Climbing, abseiling and weaselling. Suitable for all the family. ItineraryOur Rock Adventure experience starts with a friendly welcome from your instructor, followed by a brief introduction talk. This includes a talk about the safety equipment, safety equipment fitting, an explanation of how the session runs and plenty of top tips for climbing the rocks. Time to climb! Your instructor will guide you through your climbing experience and help you scale the impressive granite towers. Your experience will finish off with Weaselling! Weaselling is a unique Devon experience, crawling and squeezing through gaps and tunnels in the granite Tors. Weaselling is super fun for the little ones, they quickly become the weaselling champions! Venture into wild Dartmoor with Crag 2 Mountain on a Navigation experience and you’ll come away confident to take on your own adventures. Come and discover who your family navigator truly is. You might be Surprised! Learn map reading and compass skills, discover Dartmoor’s history and explore the environment all on a stunning walk on Dartmoor. Family Navigation courses are great for the whole family. The adults of the family will learn all the same information as a Basic Navigation course but over a shorter walk to accommodate for those little legs on the course. The skills taught to children are adapted to each child and their individual learning level. Caving Adventure Session

Discover a fascinating underground world with Crag 2 Mountain’s highly experienced Cave Leaders and experience a hidden world of peace and tranquility and heighten your senses. Our 3 hour Caving Adventure Session is a great way to explore our local cave system, learn about the cave formations, be engrossed in cave stories and the discover fascinating history. The cave system is perfect for beginners and those who have never caved before, with big open caverns and challenges along the way for those who wish to test themselves. Watch your families confidence grow as we journey around the cave network. A unique opportunity to be fully present and explore your limitations. Taking the many health benefits of the outdoors, to their extreme. There will also be an opportunity to experience total darkness with no light in the cave other than our head torches when we turn these off we are plunged into complete darkness. This activity is suitable for all the family, including children aged 5 years and over. Please note that children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pair up with our Rock Adventure or Family Navigation to make a full day experience. Your instructor will fit all the equipment you need for the cave and discuss how the session will run. There is a short 5-10 minute to the cave entrance. Once at the entrance your instructor will go through a safety brief and offer plenty of caving top tips. Along your journey in the cave, your instructor will tailor the route taken to the group. As you explore the cave you’ll discover plenty of stories and learn all about the cave fascinating system and formations. Once you have finished exploring the cave, before heading back to the cars, there is a quick trip to the river to tidy up all that mud!   Inclusions What's Included 🧰 Equipment - All safety equipment is provided.   What you'll need 🧤 Warm Clothing - Long sleeve trousers and top are essential. Clothes will get muddy! The cave remains a constant temperature year round, we recommend wearing tracksuit bottoms and a fleece. 📋 Other - Wellington Boots are essential. 5 Day Trad Development Course

5 Day Trad Development Course

Our Trad Climbing Development Course is a 5 day intensive course with the aim of getting your confident leading multi-pitch trad routes.   This course is ideal if you are looking to gain the skills to lead trad routes independently. This course will also cover a days improvised rescue skills which is are essential skills if things don’t go to plan!   The course will based on Dartmoor for 4 days with a day at the sea cliffs in Bosigran in Cornwall. Our 3 hour Caving Adventure Session is a great way to explore our local cave system, learn about the cave formations, be engrossed in cave stories and the discover fascinating history. The cave system is perfect for beginners and those who have never caved before, with big open caverns and challenges along the way for those who wish to test themselves. Watch your families confidence grow as we journey around the cave network. A unique opportunity to be fully present and explore your limitations. Taking the many health benefits of the outdoors, to their extreme. There will also be an opportunity to experience total darkness with no light in the cave other than our head torches when we turn these off we are plunged into complete darkness. This activity is suitable for all the family, including children aged 5 years and over.
