Indoor Open Play Fall Open Play Schedule As we move into fall, we’re slowly rolling out updated Indoor Open Play hours over the next few weeks. We’ll begin with our morning 9-11am Open Play sessions , along with a  midday 12-2pm session on Mondays & Wednesdays.  We’re also working on an afternoon Open Play option , with more details coming soon. We will have evening offerings on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings . Tuesday evenings will feature Sensory Studio , Wednesday evenings will feature Evening Explorers , and Friday evenings will include a mix of Open Play, seasonal activities, and special events. Indoor Open Play reservations will continue to be offered in two-hour increments . On Flex Fridays, you may see a longer Open Play window listed on our calendar. Families can arrive anytime during that window, but each reservation includes up to two hours of play. Because our daily schedule may vary around classes, events, and parties, our booking calendar will always have the most up-to-date availability. Indoor Open Play includes access to our indoor space and, when available, our outdoor play area . Families must begin indoors, and once you transition outside, you will not be able to return to the indoor play space. The River & Root Fall Play Yard is OPEN! 🍂 Our outdoor play space has transformed for October, with fall-inspired play experiences designed especially for little ones ages 0–6! Come dig and scoop in our corn pit , pretend to pick and sort apples , send pumpkins racing down our pumpkin car racing track , mix up something seasonal in our autumn mud kitchen , explore fall sensory invitations , and climb, balance, build, and play throughout the yard. Add in pumpkins, hay, and plenty of sweet fall photo moments, and it’s an easy, toddler-friendly way to enjoy all the fun of the season without the overwhelm of a big fall festival. Everything is intentionally designed for little hands, little bodies, and lots of open-ended play. 🍎🍂 Outdoor Open Play at River & Root 🌿 Outdoor Only Open Play is a lower-cost play option for families who want to enjoy our outdoor space only. Along with our special Fall Play Yard activities, families can explore our mud kitchen, building zone, nature-inspired play invitations, sensory areas, gross motor play, and other rotating seasonal activities. For the fall season, Outdoor Open Play is available 9:00 AM–2:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday , with occasional pop-up evening dates. On Wednesdays, Outdoor Open Play is available 10:30 AM–2:00 PM to accommodate our Mini Nature School program. As well as 9:00 AM-11:00AM on Saturdays and Sundays. Families may arrive anytime during the designated play window listed on our booking calendar and stay for up to two hours within that window. Our outdoor area includes shaded seating, umbrellas, and picnic tables, and families are welcome to bring and enjoy a snack or lunch outside during their visit. Please note that this ticket is for outdoor play only and does not include access to our indoor play space. Families will have access to our back bathroom and back lobby area if you need a quick break from the outdoors. Pricing: 🎟️ $15 per child 👫 Siblings: $5 👶 Children under 6 months: Free Weather Policy: Outdoor Open Play is highly weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather, a last-minute cancellation, or an early closure due to changing weather conditions, families will receive a credit to attend another day of their choice, valid for either Outdoor or Indoor Open Play. Our Fall Play Yard is only here for the season, so come enjoy a little fall magic made just for little ones! 🍂🤍

Our Infant-Only Open Play session is designed specifically for non-walking babies to explore safely and comfortably in a peaceful, developmentally-appropriate environment. This dedicated time gives caregivers a calm space to connect while little ones enjoy soft climbers, sensory play, and early-learning materials meant just for them. Starting Fall 2026, this session will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-2pm Please reserve this time only if your child is not yet walking. A sibling option is available solely for families with two non-walking infants (such as twins). To protect the integrity of this gentle space, older siblings are not permitted. Although we offer this separate infant-only block, your non-mobile infant is always welcome to join you during any of our standard Open Play sessions as well—whatever works best for your family’s schedule.

Our Stay-at-Home Moms Playdate was created to make it easier to find connections, build friendships, and enjoy a morning out alongside other moms who understand this season of life. Designed for moms and caregivers with children ages 0–4 who are home with their little ones during the week, this relaxed weekly gathering offers little ones the opportunity to play and explore while grown-ups have a chance to connect naturally, chat, and build meaningful community. No awkward networking, no pressure, just a welcoming space to meet other local moms in a similar season. Whether you’re brand new to the area, hoping to meet more mom friends, or simply looking for something special to add to your week, we’d love to welcome you. Pizza & Popsicles on the Porch Playdate 🍕🍭 Looking for an easy, fun Friday night tradition? Join us for Pizza & Popsicles on the Porch, a relaxed weekly evening gathering at River & Root designed to help families slow down, connect, and kick off the weekend together. Held outdoors on Friday evenings from 4:30–6:30 PM, little ones can enjoy play on the lawn while families relax with music, bubbles, and a laid-back summer evening. Every child will receive a free popsicle on the house! Families are welcome to add pizza to their registration, bring their own dinner, or have food delivered from a favorite local spot through Grubhub, Uber Eats, or takeout. Come as you are, stay as long as you’d like during the play window, and make Friday nights at River & Root part of your family’s summer rhythm. Please note: our indoor play area will be closed during this event, with access to our back bathroom only.

Mornings with Dad On the third Friday of each month from 9:00–11:00 AM , our Open Play block is reserved just for dads and their little ones (ages 0–4). Created to give dads an easy, welcoming opportunity to meet other dads in the community while their children play, this session is all about connection and meaningful time together. Due to popular request, we’ll also begin offering select weekend options (likely the last Sunday of the month) to better accommodate families who prefer weekend hours. Join us at a time that works best for you, meet other dads, enjoy good conversation, and spend quality time with your little one.

A special open play session reserved just for grandparents and their grandlittles (ages 0–4) on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Join us for a relaxed morning of connection, play, and community with other grandparents who are spending these sweet early years caring for and making memories with the next generation. Enjoy unhurried play, meaningful conversation, and a cozy space designed just for you and your grandlittle.
