Overview
Please book here for Schools/School Aged Groups; including scouts, summer schools and adult-supervisor-lead groups of young people with pupils aged 17 and under.
2026 information for Schools:
- £8.50 per child
- Supervising adults are free of charge up to the correct ratio for the age group. Additional adults are charged at £9.90.
- A £20 deposit (plus booking fee) is required at checkout to secure the booking date.
- Your group will need to bring their own lunch, weather-appropriate clothing and outdoor footwear with good grip (e.g. wellies, walking boots, outdoor trainers).
- Invoices will be sent once final numbers are confirmed.
On arrival a member of the Puzzlewood team will meet you at the carpark, show you our facilities and answer any questions. Your booking is not a private hire, we are open to the public, however you will have a separate area, with tables and chairs, to store your bags and have your picnics etc. If you would like have lunch from our cafe, please let us know if advance so we can arrange this.
All activities must be facilitated and lead by yourselves. We have resource packs and a risk assessment available here that you are welcome to use to help guide your visit. Our 12 resource packs, written by local teachers, cover elements of geography, science, art and design, maths and english and are packed with practical, easy to deliver activities saving you lots of time planning your school trip.

- Ancient woodland with paths, lookouts and bridges (map provided on request)
- Indoor and outdoor picnic areas
- Children's playground, willow maze, indoor maze and toddler race track
- Farm animals
- Toilet and hand wash facilities
- Water refill station
- Free hard coach stand in carpark
- Cosy Café and Gift Shop
We strongly recommend a free of charge pre-visit, which can be arranged for up to 2 people following a booking.

Please note:
There are over 200 steep steps and winding narrow pathways in the woodland. This can be challenging terrain and suitable footwear must be worn. The woods is not wheelchair or pushchair accessible. Those with physical disabilities may wish to consider whether they can safely navigate the woodland.
In the event of adverse weather we may need to close for safety reasons. You will be notified before 5pm the day before your booking date.
All visitors must stay on the paths for your own safety and to help us protect our ancient woodland for generations to come, thank you.
