Enjoy a guided behind the scenes tour of Tomintoul Distillery, located in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and see how our dedicated team use traditional distilling techniques that stretch back hundreds of years, to handcraft our award-winning Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The tour will be followed by a tasting of three Tomintoul Single Malts. The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes. SILENT SEASON: every summer we close the production side of our distillery to perform maintenance; during this time we will endavour to show you the stills in the still house but only if it is safe to do so. during this period the tours are reduced in price; you will still get to understand how we make our whisky, and ofcourse sample it, but you will not see production in action.... This year's silent season is from the 22nd June to the 27th of July. Our Single Malt Experience will give you a brief run-through of how our distillery crafts our single malt whisky, with a look in the still room and a visit to one of our warehouses before our guides provide a tutored tasting of 5 of our more exclusive, aged, single malt whiskies.

The Single Cask Experience will take you on a tour through our distillery and warehouse, followed by a tutored sampling of 6 of our very special, Single Cask expressions in our Secret Whisky Bothy (weather and group size dependant).  Each sample will be paired with an example of the liquid that has seasoned the cask prior to us filling it with our spirit – giving real insight into the flavour differentiation between the styles.  This experience is available year-round by prior booking via email only tomintoulsocial@angusdundee.co.uk   There are 10 spaces available on each tour, and each participant must be aged 15 years or older. Samples are 10ml each and tours run daily (7 days a week) during the high season; for availability, please see our online booking system.
