Then it's back to the tent for a well earned sleep.  Have you ever wanted to go on a journey in a sea kayak?  Carrying everything you need with you, travelling with the wind and weather, and exploring what comes along?  Challenging yourself to live light?  Then join us.  Just enjoy being guided or make the most of our experienced instructors and gain tuition as you go. The cost includes your guiding fee, kayaking kit (boat, spray deck, paddle, buoyancy aid, cag, helmet and long john wetsuit) and camping fees.  This trip is for intermediate paddlers depending on the weather some of the crossings can present more of a challenge, therefore this trip is not suitable for complete beginners (beginners welcome on other trips). We ask that you have the following experience or ability:  Have at least 3 days worth of sea kayaking experience in a closed cock-pit kayak using a spray deck Be able to paddle 5 days in a row for an average of 4-6 hours a day depending on the weather and the group Carry your camping kit from the beach to the campsite which may be up to a 500m away Travel light and be happy to sleep in a small tent Have had some experience of sea kayaking in either lumpy seas, windy conditions or moderate waters at times If you have less experience than this then there is the Beginner trip or the Other trip that would suit you better. Please note we use Dagger Stratos 14.5ft kayaks.  We have both small and large options.  They do have a capacity limit.  If you are 6ft 3" or taller, or over 100kg please contact us for a conversation before booking. The easiest way to find out if the trip is for you is to give us a call and chat it through with us. If you spend a lot of time on the water doing other sports then your confidence and sea awareness may be good enough.      This trip includes four and a half days of sea kayaking and your camping fee for five nights.  The Isles of Scilly has many designated Sites of Scientific Interest and therefore does not allow wild camping.  However this gives us an opportunity to support local businesses and enjoy the advantage of a shower after a day on the water.  We will begin and finish on the island of St Martins with the option of camping at St Agnes or Bryher or both.  Below is an example itinerary: Day One - You will arrive on St Mary's at about midday and catch the inter-island ferry to St Martin's where we will meet you on the quay.  After setting up camp we begin with an afternoon paddle to ease you back into it and get you used to the kit.  Then its back on land in time for a quick change and off to the pub to enjoy the view and some food for those that wish to join us.    Day Two - We will pack our tents and fill our kayaks for a trip to Bryher where we will camp on night 2.  The exact routes each day will be weather dependent and will be decided on a day to day basis. Our aim will be to explore lots of the islands.  On route we have the possibility of exploring Round Island, Men-a-Vaur, St Helens, Tean, and Tresco.   Day Three - There is much to explore from Bryher so we will aim to camp here for a second night enabling the opportunity of a kayak around the Northern rocks and Samson, or a paddle to explore St Agnes if the weather allows. Day Four - We will pack up  before heading back to St Martins.  This may enable us to enjoy the Eastern Isles and the resident seals. Day Five - We can paddle around the island of St Martins or head out to Men-a-Vaur if we have not already managed to get there.  We will end the week with dinner in the pub for those that wish to join us.   Make sure you book your ferry home for 'Day six' or you will miss your last day of kayaking. The inter-island ferry leaves St Martins around 10.30 giving you lots of time to explore the historic Garrison of St Mary's, or enjoy the local food and drink, before catching the Scillonian back to Penzance. Obviously you can stay longer, you will just need to arrange this accommodation separately yourself.  Above is an example of the trip we aim to provide, weather conditions will dictate our exact routes and may mean camping for more or less time on particular islands. Please note that we also offer 5 day trips based from St Martin's that are more suitable for complete beginners and upwards. When paying you have the choice to pay a £100 deposit or to pay in full.  There is a small booking fee. Outer Hebrides Sea Kayaking

Outer Hebrides Sea Kayaking

£550 per person Next available dates 2026:  16th August - Fully Booked 23rd August - Fully Booked 6th - 11th Sept - Fully Booked Contact us to be added to the waiting list in case of cancellations. We will be based in Bhaltos on the west coast of Lewis, this beautiful location is a must see.  Bright white beaches, huge rock arches, turquoise waters, incredible wildlife, all against a backdrop of mountainous terrain. A 6 day trip including 4 full days of kayaking with a maximum of 6 people per trip.  The trip includes 4 full days of kayaking within a 6 day window.  This enables us to choose the best days for kayaking based on the weather forecast and gives you two days to explore the area or rest.  The price also includes your guide, kayaking equipment and an online album of photos taken by the guide during the week.     We will be staying at Kneep campsite situated on a long stretching white sandy beach.  We recommend joining us there in your campervan/motor home or renting one of the various holiday homes nearby.  We are recommending that you do not stay in a tent unless you are used to camping in changeable conditions and have a tent that can withstand 'real' weather.  The temperature is cooler and the weather is very changeable.     We have chosen this area as it is sheltered from a lot of the Atlantic swell and gives lots of different trip options from one area whatever the weather.  The island has many gems to explore, hence we are asking that you have access to transport to enable A to B trips, and for us to make the most of the time you have in order to experience the variety of kayaking that is on offer.  We will transport the boats you will just need to transport yourselves. These will be a maximum drive of about 30min. These trips are suitable for those that have spent 3 or more days in a closed cock-pit sea kayak with a spray deck before.  If you are unsure as to whether this trip is for you do give us a call to discuss it.   Please note that for complete beginners we offer trips in the Isles of Scilly in May/June each year. How to get there: take a ferry from Ullapool to Stornaway on the Isle of Lewis and drive 50min across to the west of the island to Kneep.  Alternatively take more time out to explore the islands and begin with a ferry from Oban and drive up from Barra including a few more ferry crossings and awesome islands before reaching the area of Bhaltos where we will be based. Our qualified and very experienced guides work under the professional bodies of Paddle UK, they create a relaxed and fun environment in which to learn and improve. Itinerary The trip runs Sunday to Friday enabling you to get accommodation Saturday to Saturday. Day One - we will meet at 10am at Kneep campsite to give you your kayaking kit and make a plan for the week.  The exact trip plans will be tailored around the weather with the aim of exploring the area over four days of kayaking.  We should also have a rough idea of which two days to pick as rest days in the 6 day trip period.  This flexibility enables us to increase the probability of paddling for four days.  The weather can be changeable in this dramatic location and although we have chosen a location that provides shelter in certain wind and swell conditions we are at the mercy of mother nature. Days Two, Three and Four -   We will meet at 10am giving you time to have breakfast and prepare snacks and lunch to bring with you for the day.  We will provide a suggested kit list with hints and tips for your trip upon booking. Make sure you book your ferry home for 'Day Seven' at the earliest or you may miss your last day of kayaking.  The cost includes your tuition/guiding fee and kayaking kit (boat, spray deck, paddle, buoyancy aid, cag, helmet and long john wetsuit) and photos.  Please note we use Dagger Stratos 14.5ft kayaks. We have both small and large options. They do have a capacity limit. If you are 6ft 3" or taller, or over 100kg please contact us for a conversation before booking.
