Family Iron Age Pot Workshop

Overview

Make your own Iron Age clay pot, as part of our Roman & Iron Age Festival.

At this workshop, you will make a clay pot, using ancient techniques and air dry clay. Iron Age communities did not have pottery wheels but used their hands to mould and shape clay. We will show you how to do this, and then you can decorate your pot in whatever way you want.
Suitable for all ages.

The workshop will last around 30 minutes and will take place in the Trimontium Craft Tent.

PARTICIPANT INFORMATION:
  • All participants will need a valid Festival entry ticket to access the workshop
  • This activity is suitable for all ages, although smaller children may need some help from an adult.
  • The workshop ticket includes all materials and you can take your pot away with you.
  • As we are using clay, please ensure you are wearing suitable clothing for a craft activity.
