Regular opening hours: Wednesday - Sunday, 10am - 4pm (last entry at 3:30pm). Open every day in the school holidays, and on bank holidays. Entrance to visit our bird of prey and conservation centre where you can see our resident falcons, hawks and owls.  Daily flying displays (subject to weather conditions):  Mini flying display 11am (2 birds in flight with guided commentary) Full flying display 2:30pm ! 3-4 different birds in flight with guided commentary In the event of extreme weather or circumstances out of our control, displays may be cancelled at short notice.  Please check our website or social media for updates. Dogs - to keep our birds safe we have a no dogs policy.

Dates: Tuesday 22 September, Tuesday 13 October Times: 10am-11am Join our engaging pre‑school sessions designed to delight little nature‑lovers! Children will get the chance to meet two of our owls and watch them in flight, as they swoop overhead.  They will also take part in craft based and hands-on activities, learning all about owls and how they live. It’s an exciting introduction to wildlife that’s perfect for tiny explorers and their grown‑ups. Suitable for children aged up to 5, though older siblings are welcome.  Please note - This activity takes place in our indoor flying area, but it can still get a bit chilly so please bring warm clothes! Cost: £10 per child, which includes entry for 1 accompanying adult.

Bring your camera and work alongside our expert Bird Keepers, who will help you get the perfect shot. We fly the birds using our gentle, consent‑based approach so every moment is natural and authentic, and also ensures the birds choose how they participate.  Perfect for photographers who want rare, close‑up opportunities with incredible birds in a countryside setting. Times: 10am-12pm  Dates: Tuesday 27 October 2026 Step into the world of a real bird keeper and discover what it takes to care for magnificent birds of prey. Our Junior Bird Keeper Experience is a hands-on workshop designed for children aged 6–12 who are interested in birds and want to learn what life is really like behind the scenes at The Bird of Prey Project. Work alongside our experienced bird keepers and take part in genuine day-to-day keeper tasks. Learn all about the birds who live at the centre and how we take care of them in a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment. During this experience, the Junior Bird Keepers will: Fly a bird of prey under expert supervision Help clean and prepare an aviary Create enrichment parcels and deliver it to one of our birds, learning how to encourage natural behaviours Learn about bird care, diets, training, and welfare Ask questions and hear first-hand what it’s like to work with birds of prey This hands-on experience is designed to inspire the next generation of bird-keepers, conservationists, and wildlife professionals. Led by knowledgeable, experienced staff, it will be a memorable, confidence-building experience for curious young minds. This will be a small group activity to ensure safety, learning and engagement, and therefore booking is essential. What's Included Equipment: All equipment necessary for the experience will be provided once you arrive Refreshments: we will provide a small snack and a drink during the workshop W hat you'll need 🧤 Warm Clothing ☂️ Waterproofs - Please wear wellies or walking boots 📋 Other - Please wear a long sleeved shirt. Fly a bird - group experience

Fly a bird - group experience

Enjoy having one of our trained birds fly to your gloved arm, AND enjoy full day tickets. Your experience ticket includes full day tickets for the centre, so you are also welcome to enjoy a flying display during your visit.  Displays run at 2:30pm Weds-Sun, and every day in school holidays. During the Spring / Summer months we also run an additional mini flying display at 11am - check our social media or website for details. After a short introduction and health and safety briefing from your session leader, you will meet one of our resident birds who will then fly to land on your gloved hand, where they will enjoy some of their tasty meal before alighting and returning again. You'll be able to be up close and personal to some of our birds, and you are welcome to take photos and videos. Entrance to the visitor centre where you can see our resident falcons, hawks and owls, is also included. Your tickets are valid for the whole day, and you can come and go as many times as you like, just keep your ticket confirmation to show at the door (note that with the exception of school holidays, flying displays only run wednesday - sunday). Time slots for fly a bird run at 1pm and lasts up to 30 minutes. Dogs - to keep our birds safe we have a no dogs policy. In the event of extreme weather or circumstances out of our control, displays or experiences may be cancelled at short notice. FLY A BIRD EXPERIENCE Suitable for all ages 5+ please read the information below before booking We cannot guarantee the species or individual who will be flying for your session. This is a group experience so there may be other visitors joining you for the experience. Accessibility: All flights will be guided by a trained member of our team who can provide additional support if required, participants will have to travel over uneven ground (grass/gravel). If you have any specific needs, do contact us so we can best provide for your experience. Terms and conditions: Equipment: We will provide you with the specialist equipment required to handle our birds, however we would strongly encourage you to wear clothing and footwear suitable for a woodland/field walk and bring a long-sleeved top. Birds of Prey are not pets, please do not attempt to stroke or touch any of our birds during your session. Extreme weather: In the event of extreme weather or other unusual circumstance we reserve the right to cancel and refund your flight session. During your session an experienced member of our team will supervise any interaction with the birds, following the instruction provided is paramount for your health and safety. Visitors are responsible for their own health and safety and that of any accompanied minors throughout their visit. The Bird of Prey Project is not liable for any accident or injury incurred during visits to The Bird of Prey Project or surrounding areas during a Fly a Bird session. Our private Hawk Walks are an incredible opportunity to be face to face, or face to wing, with one of our beautiful trained Hawks, taking place outdoors on the beautiful Newton Park Estate situated in The Duchy of Cornwall's 17th century village of Newton St Loe.  Guided by an experienced member of our team, you can enjoy the thrill of having a trained Harris' Hawk fly to your glove using easy-to-use techniques. When you arrive at our Centre in Newton St Loe, you’ll be greeted by one of our experienced team who'll take you through a short Health and Safety briefing to ensure your experience is rewarding, safe and enjoyable.  When we arrive at one of our flying locations, you'll be given a demonstration of how to stand and how to call the Hawk to you safely. The rest is up to you and we'll encourage you to enjoy yourself as much as possible. The whole experience lasts up to an hour, and during the time we'll explain the bird's flying and hunting techniques and answer any questions you may have.  Pricing:  Prices are £65 for one participant, with additional participants at £55 each. A 20% group discount is automatically applied to your booking for four or more participants. Dates and Times: 19 & 20 September 5:30-7pm 21 & 22 November 3:30-5pm 12 & 13 December 3:30-5pm 19 & 20 December 3:30-5pm With a hot drink and cake in hand, sit back, relax and enjoy the cosy sunset, atmosphere and our beautiful owls flying silently overhead, and come face to face with some of natures most stunning species, flying two of our owls yourself.  100% of proceeds go direct to The Bird of Prey Project - working in raptor monitoring, research, conservation and modern welfare. Owls are one of natures most mysterious creatures, surrounded by myth and legend. During one of our exclusive Owl Encounters, you’ll be able to handle, feed and fly a variety of these special birds in our undercover flying area and learn about their habitat, hunting techniques and more.  You will be greeted by an experienced member of our team when you arrive at our centre in Newton St Loe, who will take you through a short Health and Safety briefing to ensure your experience is rewarding, safe and enjoyable.  You will get the opportunity to fly three different Owls varying in size and species. The whole experience will last up to one hour, and during that time we will talk about each species in turn whilst they fly to your gloved hand - face to face with some of natures most striking birds! Halloween Haunted Hawks - 28 October

Date: Wednesday 28th October Time: 3-5:30pm  Celebrate Halloween in and amongst real hawks and owls this year… Starting with a beautiful sunset flying display over our pumpkin scattered meadow – experience silent owls and rapid hawks flying right overhead.  Then visit our birds and take part in our fun and interesting creepy crawly activities and games! No doubt you’ll have a fun and memorable half term experience, but you’ll also learn about wildlife, conservation and the importance of the bugs, beetles and creepy-crawlies for nature everywhere! As a registered charity, 100% of the proceeds from your entrance fee support the upkeep of the birds at the centre and ongoing work to protect and preserve wild birds of prey and the wild spaces they depend on.   What you'll need 🧤 Warm Clothing - Dress for being outdoors! ☂️ Waterproofs - Dress for being outdoors!
