The Alpaca Walk Experience - Alpaca Orchard Walk & Tour - (Public Small Group)

Overview

A two and a half hour small group Alpaca Farm Experience,  your visit will include our Alpaca Orchard Walk (Approx 1 hour) plus time with the rest of the herd, followed by drinks and cake. Experience real alpaca farm life, in this magical and memorable day out!

We are dedicated to keeping the friendliest alpaca herd around and this really shows in how much the alpacas love their fun and varied walks and time spent with visitors, yes you can hug an alpaca!

Alpaca Orchard Walk (Ages 5+)
  • We welcome you to Little Orchard Alpacas and to meet the herd!
  • Feed some treats (all included), learn a little bit about each alpaca and choose your walking companions!
  • Approximately one hour of gentle alpaca walking.
  • The walk route is gentle and suitable for most fitness levels. We walk through the field and around the old apple orchard, spotting wildlife and enjoying the varied surroundings as we go.
  • Afterwards there will be time to spend with the rest of the herd, meet our crias (babies) and watch them play.
  • The time on the farm varies with the season, in the summer there are plenty of shady spots with tree cover; the alpacas spend lots of time eating leaves and apples! In the Spring, the walk route comes alive with bluebells. In Autumn the alpacas love finding blackberries and the colours of the orchard make for stunning photos (and we love a pumpkin photo); in December, wrap up warm and we will get all festive with the alpacas!
  • Whatever the season, the experience is all about having some relaxed fun and enjoying the alpacas’ company in a beautiful orchard setting.

Meet the rest of the herd and crias:
  • We will then introduce you to our group of female alpacas and any young alpacas (crias or weanlings), all with their different personalities and stories.
  • We put a lot of love into our herd and our alpacas are extremely friendly and nosy! Alpacas all are different, but we have many who love to be stroked and there will be plenty of opportunity for petting and photos.
  • Whilst in the alpaca paddocks you will have the opportunity to get up close with the alpacas, take photos surrounded by the alpacas and feed them their favourite treats!
  • A visit would also not be complete without saying hello to Peggy and Wilbur, our resident pot-bellied pigs, and giving our farm dog Tilly some fuss!

Drinks & Cake
  • After all the alpaca fun, it is time to relax with refreshing drinks and cake. We have a lovely drinks menu to choose from and homemade cake.
  • Sit in our Alpaca Paddock Picnic Area, with tables and parasols or our lovely cosy undercover tea barn area.
  • Before heading off, browse in our Alpaca Room Shop for a souvenir or alpaca craft project to take home with you.

This is more than just an Alpaca Walk - this is a memorable and personal experience, we want you to feel at home, to really get to know our alpacas and to feel the joy of a special experience to remember.  A warm welcome awaits you and we hope you will leave feeling relaxed, happy and with lots of alpaca memories to take away!
