Mini & Me Pilates
This Mini & Me Pilates class is designed to support caregivers through a 35-minute, all-levels Pilates session that is both prenatal and postpartum friendly. Led by Sam Shay, certified Pilates instructor and mom, this class focuses on intentional movement, rebuilding strength, and reconnecting with your body in a way that feels supportive and approachable. Little ones are welcome to participate throughout class, with baby-wearing encouraged for younger babies. The environment is relaxed and understanding of the realities of motherhood, allowing you to move at your own pace while tending to your child as needed. Following the Pilates session, families are invited to stay for 40 minutes of open play designed for children ages 0–4. This extended time allows little ones to explore while caregivers connect, unwind, and build community with others in a similar season of life. Led by Sam Shay ( @hey_samshay ), whose work centers on motherhood, movement, and mindset, this experience offers a thoughtful balance of self-care and connection for both you and your child. Baby Play Lab (Drop-in)
Baby Play Lab An OT-led baby and caregiver class focused on supporting development through play and connection. Best for moms of newborns and infants who are not actively crawling yet (0-6 months). Tuesdays, 10:30AM–12PM | Series runs 9/21–10/26 An OT-led baby and caregiver class focused on supporting development through play and connection. We’ll explore tummy time, side-lying, rolling, reaching, early sitting skills, gentle movement, sensory experiences and age-appropriate ways to support your baby at home. Each class also gives caregivers a chance to ask questions about development and learn simple strategies they can use during everyday play. Class Structure (Play + Learn) Class runs from 10:30-11:30am Open Play: Families attending Baby Play Lab are welcome to stay following the class and enjoy our Montessori-inspired play space until 12PM. Baby Play Lab 2 (Drop-in)
Baby Play Lab 2 An OT-led developmental play class for babies who are becoming more mobile. Ages 6-12 months Tuesdays, 11:30am-1pm | Series runs 9/21–10/26 *Included Open Play begins at 11:30am prior to the class start time. Class runs from 12-1pm An active OT-led developmental play class for babies who are becoming more mobile! Through movement, music, sensory play and simple obstacle courses, we’ll support skills like sitting, transitions, crawling, pulling to stand, balance, coordination and early walking foundations. Caregivers will learn playful ways to encourage their baby’s next skills while following each baby’s individual developmental pace. Our Sensory Studio class brings a brand-new theme to life each week through playful music, gentle movement, and rich sensory exploration. Every class opens up with a community circle, introducing the week's theme through interactive songs, fingerplays, or short stories. Then, little ones dive into open sensory play to squish, splash, and explore at their own pace! Mini Nature School (Drop-in)
A gentle, play-based outdoor experience inspired by nature and early childhood development. Ages 18 months-4 years old Wednesdays, 9AM–10:30AM | Series runs 9/21–10/26 Mini Nature School is an outdoor class designed to give little ones a meaningful, hands-on experience with nature, play, and early learning. Each session blends music, movement, sensory exploration, and simple science activities in a way that feels engaging, flexible, and developmentally appropriate. Ms. Sarah incorporates opportunities for children to build fine motor skills, explore sensory input, and grow confidence, while offering caregivers simple, practical strategies to use at home. Mini Nature School offers a balance of structure and freedom, creating a predictable rhythm while allowing children to explore and connect at their own pace. Class Structure Each class includes circle time with songs and a story, followed by open-ended activities like art, sensory play, and hands-on exploration. Children also enjoy free play, snack time, and a guided activity such as planting, simple science, or a nature scavenger hunt, ending with a playful group experience. This class is held fully outdoors. In cases of extreme inclement weather, class will be canceled or rescheduled. Little Artists Studio (Drop-in)
Little Artists Studio Ages 18 months-3 years old Wednesdays, 10:15AM–11:30AM | Series runs 9/21–10/26 Join us at River & Root for a 45-minute, child-led process art class hosted by Philly Art Center - Cherry Hill! Designed for little artists ages 18 months–3 years, each class invites children to explore a variety of art materials, tools, textures, and techniques through open-ended projects that expand your kiddos skills, curiosity and creative decision making. Open-ended exploration lays the foundation for out-of-the-box thinking. This class focuses on the process: mixing, painting, stamping, building, experimenting, and discovering what happens along the way. Children are encouraged to make their own choices, follow their curiosity, and create at their own pace. These playful art experiences support fine motor development, coordination, confidence, self-expression, social connection, and creative thinking. Grown-ups are invited to create alongside their little ones while giving them plenty of space to lead the way. Metalworking is her favorite, especially making jewelry and keychains! When she’s not making art, you can find Evie biking, hiking, camping, or enjoying the great outdoors. This class is designed for moms and babies ages 6–12 months, offering a supportive space to connect, learn, and feel confident as your baby grows and changes. Each session begins with a simple introduction and a short mindfulness or breathing exercise to help you slow down and feel more grounded. From there, we dig into your burning questions and explore weekly topics like starting solids, sitting, pre-crawling, and pre-walking, using simple toys and everyday items to show easy ways to support your baby's development. As the group builds, we also create space to share what's been challenging and support one another — including the adjustment to life as a mom now that the fourth trimester is behind you.
